In its original red Shonen Jump printing release, it was uncensored. I have that one. Later on, when they started getting more timid, they actually went to the trouble of drawing a fairly ornate bra on her.

Best Goku : Pilaf - Namek
Best Vegeta : Saiyan -Namek
Gohan - Saiyan - Namek
Piccolo -Saiyan
Yamcha - Pilaf arc
Tenshinhan - 22nd
Roshi - 21st arc - Piccolo Daimao
Krillin' - 21st - Saiyan
Bulma - Pilaf - Baba
Chaozu - barely a character lmao
Goten and Kid Trunks both suck = plot devices for Gotenks/They lack depth
Cell - Imperfect Form easily.
Mr Satan -Buu Saga (one of the best in the entire arc but not enough to excuse the sloppy/shitty writing the arc was plagued with).

Best Goku : Pilaf/21st TB
Best Vegeta : Namek (entertaining balance of the villain in the Saiyan Arc with the anti-hero of later plots)
Gohan - Saiyan (loved his arc here, especially with the filler wilderness training)
Piccolo -Saiyan (Like Gohan, his arc here was excellent and made an already great villain into an unquestioned fan-favorite)
Yamcha - 22nd TB (All the characterization built around him culminated here before he started being used as ineffective comedic relief)
Tenshinhan - 22nd TB
Roshi - 21st TB and training
Krillin' - 23rd TB/Saiyan (not much difference in character between these arcs, so i lump them together. For me he was likeable before and irritating after this period, which showcased the sustained drive he had as a kid along with the skills and personality that were expanded from that point)
Bulma - Pilaf (the only arc where she's not along for the ride, but a driving force)
Puar - Baba (he's a static character both here and in Pilaf, but I find his scenes to be more memorable in the Baba arc more than the ones featured in the Pilaf arc)
Oolong - Pilaf (no other option really, but he was funny)
Chaozu - 22nd TB (He was very entertaining here. The only other arc in which he shows personality is Saiyan, but beyond his excellent moment of sacrifice he barely registers.)
Launch - 22nd/23rd TB (When her blonde form had leveled out a bit but was still violent enough to make good gags)
Chi-Chi - Saiyan (I liked her evolution into an overprotective mother and the most sympathetic version of that was in this arc)
Cell - Imperfect (no doubt)
Freeza- 4th Form
Videl- Great Saiyaman
Mr Satan -Buu Saga (one of the best in the entire arc but not enough to excuse the sloppy/shitty writing the arc was plagued with).
Working on AMVs for every major Dragon Ball character from Piccolo to Puar

Goku's character in the Freeza arc was the best we've ever gotten out of him in my opinion. He seemed like he fully matured into a man.

Goku
Best: Probably all of the arcs in the manga.
Worst: I don't have an actual in universe worse, so old FUNimation dub Goku.

Vegeta
Best: Majin Boo arc and GT. I'm probably one of the few that loves his GT incarnation. Both design(Episode 25 onward) and personality.
Worst: Artificial Human/Cell arc. Too whiny and his newly acquired Super Saiyan form gives him this huge ego. I'm glad #18 and Cell gave him the whoop down he deserved.

Gohan
Best: Saiyan - Namek arc, and beginning of Buu arc up until Mystic/Ultimate Gohan becomes worthless.
Worst: Super. Despite having a career, they still make him fight and prove how worthless he is in battle from inexperience. If it wasn't for Episode 27, I'd rather not see his face than him attempting to help out if he ain't gonna train to at least protect his loved ones. Even then, with Episode 27, I'm taking that promise he made with a grain of salt until he gets something out of it.

Trunks
Best: Future.
Worst: Kid (Present). Annoying. I actually like his GT self to a degree.

Chi-Chi
Best: 23rd Budokai. Waifu material, right there.
Worst: Super. As if you thought she was annoying in Z already(she really wasn't that bad, but Super.. oh boy)

Piccolo
Best: Saiyan arc. Love the development he had throughout. Sacrificing himself for Gohan just gets my heart going.
Worst: 23rd Budokai and Buu arc.
