Could GT look this good on Blu Ray?

I've started watching Magic Knight Rayearth on Blu Ray, and quality is absolutely fantastic, especially for 1994 show, http://postimg.org/gallery/67pqkwb0/129e4b47/ DB and DBZ tapes might be gone, because of how long series were, but GT is only 64 episodes, and i wonder, if it could get such remaster?

Of course it good. But it would take a quite a bit of time and a very pretty penny. And considering how Toei handled Kai, I don't have the greatest amount of faith in them when it comes to remastering shows for Blu-Ray releases.

If there was ever a GT release that looked as nice as that, I'd buy it 100%. Not sure there is the demand for it though.

i heard that it was an upscale of dragon ball gt that have been aired in japan and seems correct (for an upscale) it is true?
so sad that the original film for all series have completely dissapear ( take a delorean for backing time and search in the toei junk lol)

I wouldn't mind if GT was remastered like Kai, I just want to own it on Blu-Ray.

Hopefully it will happen soon, much like DB and a TOEI-remastered non-Kai Z it's long overdue.

I don't think Toei will do it but Funimation might cause GT is more popular in the west than it is in Japan but I'm not sure it would look as good as Kai.

Unfortunately Funimation don't have film masters for GT so I don't see that happening. I'm not sure if GT is more popular in the West as it sold the most on DVD in Japan whereas in the West Z always overshadows the other series on home releases.

I wish it was that simple, but its been nearly a year and a half since the Z Blu-Rays finished their run and we still haven't seen a release of DB or GT to mirror their DVD counterparts. This leads me to believe either Funimation don't think there's any financial incentive to buying film prints for those two series, have them shipped to Texas and scanning them in HD or TOEI is very stringent about allowing other companies to do the remastering.

I feel like the original DB should remaster on Blu-Ray first given that it's the first in the series and the second most iconic show in the series next to DBZ. It's also the 30th anniversary of the first DB anime too. GT on Blu-Ray is fine, but it should come out later.

I think DB getting a Blu-Ray release isn't very likely due to it not being as popular or as big of a money maker as Z is.

That's not because of the show itself but rather the way it's handled by the companies compared to Z, Z has always been marketed as the main franchise's product while DB has been treated as a side thing or just Goku's unimportant adventures when he was a kid.

Probably 100% since they never changed it in the first place.

FUNimation went to great lengths to make up some excuse for why they made the picture 16:9 ("Oh, yeah there's some damaged film and... yeah") instead of being honest and them saying, "Yeah, you know what? It's 2007 (at the time) and 16:9 TVs are in, all HD channels crop their shows to look good on TV, so we're just cropping it to look good on your TV without black bars." Then they caught massive backlash for that (plus how they tried to tell us that we see more footage on the sides without ever mentioning the picture loss on the top and bottom) and suddenly Dragon Ball Season 1 comes out in 4:3. I guess Z, which was made was made much later than Dragon Ball, had a lot worse film damage. For the blu-rays, they did try the level sets but found them to be too time consuming and expensive to make (it probably really was too much expense for little or no profit), so they just used their cropped Z masters (I think the cropping is the same... I could be wrong).

I think GT would look decent on blu-ray. Certainly better than Z. Although many praise the Level sets, I wasn't so over-the-top impressed by them, but if people enjoyed that, then GT would definitely look more crisp than that. Plus, I think the movies were done pretty nicely on blu-ray, so I suppose if they remove the grain and make the colors what they need to be, it could look pretty damn good.
