You know how when fighters, whether it be MMA, Boxing, or any fighting sport, are ready to fight, they show their wins and losses.

Example: Mike Tyson 50 - 6 (50 wins to 6 losses).

What would Goku's record be?

First thing needed to solve this is a list of every one of his manga fights, along with the result. To make things simpler, we'll only include shown fights, and fights against opponents who posed a threat or were assumed to pose a threat. So his preliminary fights for the Tenkaichi Budokai don't count, except the one against King Chappa in the third tournament . And beating random Red Ribbon Army soldiers don't count.

I'm not sure you can give him a win vs Radditz and a loss vs Vegeta. He would have lost both without the other people involved and both ended with him not winning but getting his way. I'm not sure he beat Radditz an more than he beat Vegeta honestly.

But the only time he had any big help was against Raditz and Vegeta, both ending with him disabled from the fight. Freeza kept standing after Sorbet helped him, got his ass kicked by Vegeta, but ultimately won that too. Goku's team whenever he wins, ends with him incapacitated and as good as dead if help isn't around. Freeza on the other, like I said above, would have still beaten everybody by himself and pretty much did.

You're forgetting his fight with Majin Vegeta, which he lost. It was a cheap shot by Vegeta, but he still lost.

Goku fought Yamcha twice: he lost the first time because he was hungry and in the next morning he fought Yamcha again and won.

While his record may not be the best there is a big difference between him and real life Profesional fighters.

As the story progresses Goku clearly becomes much stronger than many of his opponents to the point where it's obvious to both so a rematch to gauge his improvement aren't really necessary.

In real life people don't go SS and instantly multiply their power by 50x.

So if Jon Jones for example were to lose to someone we'd need a rematch to figure out whether it was a fluke or not.

That isn't really necessary with say Raditz for example. Yeah Goku lost to him but who cares? He's obvious canon fodder now.

A fair few of them were "Z victories" where he only wins because someone else jumps in to help him. Baby, Super 17 and Omega all would've killed him if it wasn't for other people helping him out.

I think the fight being undecided is kinda the same thing as a tie.

Nah, a tie is more objective, i.e. reaching a time limit, double knockout, both competitors admit defeat, etc. Black got sucked back to Future Trunks' timeline before an objective conclusion could be reached.

Goku wasn't the only one getting powered up from outside sources the villians were too whether it was db, dbz or dbgt I can't recall an major villian that didn't use outside source except Frieza, Broly and Janemba maybe Hildegarn. The rest are cheats.

I agree that the first one is a loss, but I find fault with the reasoning. Along this train of thought, Goku "lost" as soon as the fight started since he and Piccolo agreed to fight together from the start. I'd more say he lost because he died at the end of it, though I suppose even then he stayed alive longer than Raditz did after getting hit.

The second one is a bit harder. I understand that there was a lot of behind-the-scenes help for it, but I don't think I can justify it with this other thought-experiment. If Goku had beaten Freeza with the Genki Dama on Namek would that also have been considered a loss? He was clearly outmatched and on his way to losing before using it.

I think the Kid Boo one is more objective. Goku literally tagged out and Vegeta and Mr. Boo fought in his place, and then when it was Goku's turn to come back and fight, SS3 backfired on him and he almost passed out. Ultimately he "won" with a cheap-shot. Whilst with Freeza, it was always Freeza vs Goku with one sneak-attack from Piccolo, plus Freeza was always aware of the Genkidama, Boo only became aware at the end.
