To me, my DB collection is my ideal complete collection because otherwise, I'd stop a long time ago. Here what I have:

DVDs

- Funimation/Kidmark Dragon Ball Saga of Goku
- Funimation/Pioneer Dragon Ball Z Saiyan Conflict and Namek Saga
- Funimation/Pioneer Dragon Ball Z movies: Dead Zone, World's Strongest, andTree of Might
- Funimation Dragon Ball singles (including the Australian Saga of Goku)
- Funimation Dragon Ball Seasons 1
- Funimation Rock the Dragon set
- Funimation Ultimate Uncut
- Funimation DBZ singles from Captain Ginyu Saga all the way to the end
- Funimation DBZ Dragons 1-9
- Funimation DBZ Dragon Box 1-7
- Funimation Dragon Ball GT boxed-sets: Lost Episodes - Shadow Dragon Saga
- Funimation DB Movie Box (three DB movies)
- Funimation DBZ movie singles
- Funimation DBZ TV Specials: Bardock and Trunks
- Funimation DBGT TV special: A Hero's Legacy
- Funimation Remastered DB and DBZ movie sets (steelbooks)
- Bootleg Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return and Episode of Burdock
- Bootleg entire Japanese Dragon Ball Kai (I got this for the Boo arc)
- Bootleg DB, DBZ, DBGT, Movies, and Kai in Spanish
- Toei Dragon Ball, DBZ, DBGT, and Movies Dragon Boxes

Blu-ray

- Funimation Movies (now including Battle of Gods and Resurrection F)
- Funimation Dragon Ball Z Kai
- Funimation Dragon Ball Z Seasons 1-9

Books

- DB Tankobon 42 volumes (Japanese)
- Viz DB 1-5 and DBZ 1-9
- Viz Jaco the Galactic Patrolman
- Japanese DB color manga 1-8 (looking to get the rest eventually)
- Daizenshuus (all, including the first one in Japanese and English)
- DB Cardass (2 of them)
- Two DBGT Perfect Files

Video Games
- Japanese PS1 DBZ Legends, Ultimate Battle 22, Final Bout
- FIRST PS1 U.S. GT Final Bout release
- PS1 U.S. release of Ultimate Battle 22 and SECOND GT Final Bout release
- Every PS2 DB game
- Every PS3 DB game
- Every PS4 DB game (so far)
- Nintendo Game Boy Advance: Legacy of Goku 1&2, Buu's Fury, GT (I forget the name), DB King Piccolo (also forget the name)

I think that's all. I'm going to definitely get Funimation's Blu-rays of Super and rest of Kai, and I'm looking to finish up getting the Japanese colored manga. I'll probably get Viz's Super manga. Other than that, my "complete" collection is pretty... complete.

Well I don't think my collection is just quite complete yet as I do want to get the original Dragon Boxes in Japanese. Anyways, this is my collection so far...

What I own:
Dragon Ball Manga 1-16
Dragon Ball Z Manga Box Set 1-26
(All 42 Volumes Released by Viz)
Funimation Dragon Ball Z Blu-Rays 1-7
All Dragon Ball Z movies + Specials (All in Steelbooks)
Dragon Ball Z Kai 1-8 (Hopefully Funimation can release the rest for next year or 2018)
Funimation Dragon Ball Z Dragon Box 1-7
Dragon Ball Season 2
Kuririn Cup
Dragon Ball Z Dragon Box Singles(JAP) 1-2
Dragon Ball Jump RYU!

What I plan to buy:
Funimation Dragon Ball Z Blu-Rays 8,9
Dragon Ball Seasons 1,3,4,5
Dragon Ball GT
Dragon Ball Z Resurection of F Blu Ray
Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods Blu Ray
All Dragon Ball/Z/GT Dragon Boxes (JAP)
Maybe some figures
Jaco The Galactic Space Patrol Man, SandLand, Cowa
All Daizenshuu's
Dragon Ball Z FUll COLOUR!! (Not sure if i'm going to get JAP or ENG Release?)
Dragon Ball GT Perfect Files

Now for anything on here that is a Japanese item, I probably will most likely not be getting for some time now, as I want to focus on what has been released down here in the west and once I at least almost completed that collection, then I will branch out and get the rest of the items to have the ULTIMATE COLLECTION!! Lolz

I've changed quite a bit since last time I posted, so here it goes:

What I have:
-Dragon Ball Vol 1-42 (35-40 pending, cause December shipping)
-Jaco the Galactic Patrolman
-Dragon Ball Z Level 1.2 (plus the rest of the series via Funimation's site, does that count?)
-Double Feature: Bardock/Trunks TV Specials
-Dragon Ball Full Color

What I want:
-Dragon Ball and DBGT Bricks
-Dragon Ball Movie 4-pack
-Dragon Ball Z Movie Blu-rays
-Dragon Ball Z: Season Blu-rays
-BoG & RoF
-Dragon Ball Super: except for the retellings
-Toyotaro's DBS
-Anything else released in the future that fits into the regular DB continuity. Meaning that I'd be interested in, for example, a GT manga, but not a DB Heroes show or manga.
Retired.

What I have:
- Dragon Ball Z: Level 1.1
- Dragon Ball Z: Budokai & Budokai 3
- Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi & Tenkaichi 3
- Super Dragon Ball Z (BTW this game gets none of the love it should; that character training system should be carried over sometime later)

What I (realistically) want:
- Digest "Legend" manga releases
- Dragon Ball Z: Level 1.2
- "Battle of Gods" American Blu-Ray
- Dragon Ball 2-Disc Saga Sets
- The missing DBZ games for PS2 (except maybe Sagas)
- The batch for GBA
- Viz "Illustrations" book
- The cheaper of the Super Battle Collection figures
- Dragon Ball movies on DVD

What I (in a perfect world) want:
- Kazenban Releases
- Original Tankobon run
- Dragon Boxes through Dragon Ball/Z/GT/movies
- Daizenshuu (both the guidebooks and the CD set)
- Z Song Collection set
- Super Battle Collection set
- Dragon Ball and DBZ games for Famicom/Super Famicom

And Not Sure What Category to put these in:
- Rock the Dragon (comes up pretty cheap sometimes, but only sometimes)
- VIZ floppies (weird translation but overall closer to the original; somewhat hard to find, aren't they?)
- kei17's audio project (I mean, if this ever happens, this is going to be huge. Better than any release of anime material before it)
- The many Dragon Ball AF doujins

Mostly, I wish to own both the manga and anime in some complete and satisfactory form.

Manga:
This is the easier of my endeavors. I am currently amassing the 総集編 ('Digest Edition') that's being released and have Vol. 1-15 with 16 coming shortly (which will kick off the Buu Arc). Overall I'm pretty pleased with it. The size of it is perhaps my favorite factor but I also enjoyed reading the various contest announcements ("Goku's gi is all torn up; design him a new one!"). If these hadn't have come along I probably would've shoveled out for the Kanzenban for the art quality, but I don't feel the pressure to get them with these.

Anime:
-Blue Bricks (2-5)
-Green Bricks (1-2)

And then Z... I.. I just don't know. I'm fairly certain I'd like to own Kai at some point almost exclusively for the much better English dub (and I think it has a 4:3 option?). But I'd also like a decent run of Z mostly for the Saiyan Arc filler which I always found to be a lot of fun (also helped pad a sense of "time" and show the efforts of the Z-warriors throughout the year) and the Cell Arc which I didn't feel really needed much trimming down (except for maybe Super Vegeta and Trunks vs Cell); also in part because I'd like to have access to the Faulconer soundtrack even if I'm mostly watching it in Japanese or English w/ Kikuchi (though I'm a pretty big fan of Faulconer's Buu arc themes). I'm considering tracking down the Level Sets for the Saiyan arc, but am slightly disheartened at their discontinuation and my inability to complete a set. I wish I'd been a bit more savvy as these things were being released, but I fell for the hype marketing of the Orange Bricks back then, sadly, and didn't really look to see what else was out there. It's tough now though because you wonder if in the near future there will be another large effort like the Dragon Boxes or the Level Sets that point to a possible 'definitive release', or at the very least, a 'very acceptable release'. I imagine the Blu-Ray sets will see no shortage anytime soon, if ever, so I might grab those few Level Sets out there and bide my time.

My collection is small because I'm new to the franchise but it will hopefully grow soon. Here it is:

Viz's DB single volumes 1-6
Viz's 3-in-1 DB volumes 7-18
A Tamashii Buddies Piccolo
A SSGSS Goku figure (don't know the brand)
"All of you. All of you must have KILL all the SEASONS!" -Dough (Tenshinhan), Speedy Dub of Movie 9.

"My opinion of Norihito's Sumitomo's new score is... well, very mixed. The stuff that's good is pretty darn good, but the stuff that's bad makes elevator music sound like Jerry freaking Goldsmith." -Kenisu

Wasn't this thread asking what we envision our perfect collection to look like instead of just listing what we've already got? So if all I have is a Battle of Gods Blu-ray, but I want all of Z, I'd name all of Z? This thread does ask us to be practical too.
