DBZ Movie 03: I dislike DBZ Movie 10 to extreme degrees. I'll only praise it for contributing towards DBZ Movie 11's production.
DBZ Movie 09: Slug's story failed to be engaging. A few moments are okay but the overall experience isn't worth it.
DBZ Movie 05: The first half of DBZ Movie 08 was surprisingly better from what I remembered during a recent re-watch. It's a shame the second half of its story is very boring.
DBZ Movie 07: Unfortunately, I can only credit DBZ Movie 06's merit for short and particular segments. It's not a story I enjoy and it's visually unappealing on top of that.

Movie 3 - Tullece is better than Broly, the Tree concept is more interesting than Broly coming back but even so the movie is pretty boring. However, not boring enough to lose against the trainwreck Movie 10 is.

Movie 9 - hard to tell, because both are pretty bad, but I feel Bojack and his crew are a little more memoramble than Slug and his men. Trunks vs Tenshinhan is cool to see and both the tournament setting and the final battle one are very nice backdrops.

Movie 8 - a perfect movie for what it's setting out to do. Broly is not the most engaging character, but he serves the role of unstoppable force very well. The story is also fine as set up for the beatdown of the main cast. Movie 5 is fine and Cooler is pretty nice for a Freeza clone, but the Legendary Super Saiyan concept is more fresh.

Movie 6 - since I like Cooler I only vote for this one to make up for the earlier vote, but both are trash. Still, Super Android 13 is too much of a shit design for me to ever vote for him or his movie.

Round 3:
DBZ Movie 10 (Broly 2: Electric Boogaloo) vs DBZ Movie 3(Goku Black's Guide to Gardening) - Easily movie 3. I actually quite liket his one.

DBZ Movie 4 (Slug Daimao) vs DBZ Movie 9 (Bojack)= Movie 9's a good movie. The fourth is not.

DBZ Movie 5 (Cooler) vs DBZ Movie 8 (Broly)= I was facinated by Broly as a kid. I still think it's heaps better than movie 5.

DBZ Movie 6 (THE WORST ONE Vegetas Big Movie Debut) vs DBZ Movie 7 (THE OTHER WORST ONE Android 13)=
I quite liked movie 6 after rewatching it. So it wins in my book

1. DBZ Movie 3 vs DBZ Movie 10 - DBZ Movie 3. This is a tough one because I actually like Movie 10. It's by far the best of the Broly movies, even though I know absolutely no one agrees with me in regards to that. But Movie 3 has too much going for it.

2. DBZ Movie 4 vs DBZ Movie 9 - DBZ Movie 9. Oh, definitely Movie 9. Movie 4 I don't think is as bad as most people say, but it is so entrenched in the formula as to be forgettable. Movie 9 is one of the most memorable movies of them all.

3. DBZ Movie 5 vs DBZ Movie 8 - DBZ Movie 5. I'm not a huge fan of either, but movie 8 bores the heck out of me. Movie 5 is much more beautiful and has a much more poignant ending of poetic justice.

4. DBZ Movie 6 vs DBZ Movie 7 - DBZ Movie 6. This is tough because they both suck. But Movie 7 is the lowest of the low, with absolutely nothing even remotely interesting about it, so Movie 6 wins by default.

I really like how neck and neck 8 and 5 are. But to be honest, Apart from 9, I don't really like any of the films in this round that much.

Didn't really have to think twice about this one. I enjoy Movie 10, but 3 is iconic, and a find last hurrah for the early Z visuals. I suspect I'll be one of the few to rank Movie 4 over Movie 9, but I find the latter incredibly dull and like the bleak aesthetic of Super Saiya-jin Son Goku!. Plus, the enthusiasm the movie has for its early form of Super Saiyan is kind of infectious.

Pitting Movie 5 against 8 is a bit of a bummer, as they're both among the better Z entries in the original run. But there's no comparing 5 to 8, which operates like a genuine stand-alone film and, whatever your feelings on his place in the franchise, presents an unexpectedly chilling, very different type of villain for Dragon Ball in Broli's first outing.

I actually like the action in Movie 6 quite a bit. Movie 7 may be the worst in the franchise.

Wish I'd caught Round 2 so I could have thrown Z Movie 1 another vote. That should have made it to the finals or very close to them. Otherwise I agree with how it came out. Looking at the bracket now, I expect to see Battle of Gods vs Movie 8 in the finals. Even though it'll probably be Battle of Gods vs. Movie 12 because fan service. Boring, boring fan service.

No one should hate themselves for that. Movie 8 is one of the best in the original run, despite what was later done with its villain.

Broli himself is a seriously unnerving antagonist in Movie 8 as well, devoid of the usual visual gimmicks and hammy quirks that tend to accompany Dragon Ball villains, even the more self-serious movie ones. Just having an out-and-out no-nonsense sadist, with an appropriately grim backstory of all things, is a major departure for the series, and an interesting one to explore for seventy minutes. If you're watching the movies in order, Movie 8 comes as a serious shock to the system.

It's very un-Dragon Ball, but it does un-Dragon Ball well.

Oh heh, yeah DBZ Movie 7 over 6, don't like either one but I enjoyed the fights in 7 better.
