BRACKET:

Thanks to Laserkid for the awesome new bracket!
How do you get into the Ginyu Force? With a letter of RECOOMEndation!
BoG vs DB Movie 4 - BoG.
Battle of Gods is the best movie, and I personally think that DB Movie 4 is overrated for a number of reasons.
DBZ Movie 2 vs DBZ Movie 12 - DBZ Movie 12.
I love both of these movies, but DBZ Movie 12 is one of my favorites, so it barely wins. It's a close one.
DBZ Movie 3 vs DBZ Movie 9 - DBZ Movie 3.
The music and action sequences are better in DBZ Movie 3. I also like Tullece more than Bojack.
DBZ Movie 5 vs DBZ Movie 6 - DBZ Movie 5.
DBZ Movie 6 sucks, other than the music, so I will give my vote to the former. I also like organic Coola more than Metal Coola, so there's also that factor.
1. BoG vs 10th anniversary: BoG
as much as I love the great animation, colors and art from the 10th anniversary I vote for BoG because it was an awesome movie full of fun with a fun antagonist with an interesting design and personality and my favorite version of Beerus.
2. Movie 12 vs Movie 2: Movie 12 (fusion)
No contest here
3. Movie 3 vs Movie 9: Movie 3
Movie 9 started good but it bored me when they started to fight Bojack and Vegeta was beaten in one hit. Movie 3 was interesting... so Movie 3 for me.
4. Movie 5 vs Movie 6: Movie 6
Movie 5 has more characters, but movie 6 has Vegeta (and he wasn't out at the first hit so... )
Sleeping until the tournament is over.

These days people start throwing the words "filler" and "silce of life" everytime characters aren't punching each other. No matter if something is moving the plot or there's character exposition.
Imagine if DB started these days. It would go like this:
"hey, what's happening in Dragon Ball today?"
"Goku wants Mutenroshi to train him, so he's bringing him some chicks now."
"oh i see, just slice of life filler then. skippable. "
Kami to Kami: Tough choice cause DB Movie 4 blows KtK away when it comes to direction. No contest there. But, KtK has my favorite piece of animation which is the Shida sequence, but Mori Hisashi's piece in Movie 4 is also amazing, so I'll settle with Ktk cause I like Shida's part a bit more and Yamadera's Beers is brilliant.
DBZ Movie 2 : My favorite film. Nishio's best as far as I'm concerned. While Movie 12 has Yama'uchi's good direction and I like the character interactions between Gokuu and Vegeta a lot, #2 beats it based on sheer action choreography, the henchmen vs Gokuu scene is really good. Also, Nakata Kouji's Uiro is too good.
DBZ Movie 3 : #9 is garbage. Except the music which was memorable, there was nothing in that movie that I liked. Not a fan of #3 either cause it felt rushed, but Nishio at least saved the movie from being total trash.
DBZ Movie 5 : Easy pick. #6 failed to do anything impressive. Nishio's direction I felt was below average. While #5 was nothing that great in terms of direction either, but Hashimoto Mitsuo at least put the right resources at the right place. Piccolo's fight with the Coola squad was nice and better than anything #6 had to offer.
Battle of Gods: The 10th anniversary film's storytelling isn't as strong as its competition. It would benefit from receiving a tighter focus. Dragon Ball Z Movie 02: The expansion of Hell is fun to experience. Unfortunately, it's not as fun as one of the ultimate Dragon Ball adventures! Dragon Ball Z Movie 09: I enjoyed the elements from Gohan's story more than I did Tullece's tale. The Tree of Godly Might itself is still interesting to this day. Dragon Ball Z Movie 05: Yeah, the original Coola invasion is better suited to remain standalone. There's not much enjoyment I can salvage from his return.
Movie 12 - I like Janemba more than Wheelo and Hell is a more interesting backdrop, compared to the lab. Movie 2's fights are better though.
Movie 3 - though one, but while I love Bojack's first design, most of everything else pales comparing it to 3. Being a retread of the the Cell arc doesn't help 9 either.
Movie 5 - fuck movie 6. This is Cooler at his best.
Akira Toriyama wrote:My policy is to try and forget things once they’re over. Since if I don’t discard the old and focus on what’s new, I’ll overload my brain capacity. I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

Kunzait_83 wrote:And if you're upset because all this new material completely invalidates the tabletop RPG rulebook-sized statistical system and flowchart for the characters' "canonical Power Levels" that you'd been working on painstakingly for the last bunch of years now... well I don't think there's a kind, non-blunt way of saying this, but that's 100% entirely your own misguided fault for buying so deeply into all this nonsensical garbage in the first place. And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

BoG - Battle of Gods is hard to beat.
DBZ 12 (Fusion)- Oh man, this is a tough one. I love them both so much. But I'll have to go with Fusion. I just like how weird it is. Sometimes I just have to go with style points.
DBZ 3 (Tullece)- another tough one. But not because I especially love either. But because they both squander their villains just to have Goku or Gohan Kill everyone. I'll go with DBZ movie 3 because the 2nd half was more enjoyable.
DBZ 5 (Cooler)- No cheating death here.
Here's the most recent bracket updated until this round closes (sorry it took me so long), the URL is http://www.ultrapublications.com/hosted ... ketsv3.png for anyone that wants to link it somewhere themselves. I'll just be using version numbers to make it easier to update as we go along, this is the third one I've made so the next one whenever it happens will be http://www.ultrapublications.com/hosted ... ketsv4.png and so on.
Well, I hate Broli and I still voted for his first movie over Cooler, voted against the second one because I legitimately adore movie 3, and, well, even Broli fans usually don't like movie 11.
That said, yeah pretty sure it's going to be BoG Vs. Movie 9.
