2017 Dragon Ball Predictions

Post by rs_chaosmaster » Wed Dec 28, 2016 7:58 pm

Curious what kind of predictions we will have for this coming year. 2016 was a dragonball filled year and it looks like 2017 will be even more so. Now that the dub of Super starts in January i expect the marketing and products available for this new property to increase drastically.

Predictions:

1. Dragon Ball Super will not end its run in Japan this year
2. Their will be a timeskip post Z for Super before the end of 2017
3. No New Video Game in 2017 in the USA
4. Both Kai and Super will have the same simultaneous days for home media releases on all releases
5. No OVA's of course
6. Tons of new super related figures, tshirts and merchandise here in the states

I made my predictions now for yours

Super won't end.

Goten and trunks won't do anything important (please prove me wrong)

Hit and Gohan will job (please prove me wrong again)

Piccolo and Vegeta will surpass expectations when it comes to contributing

There won't be a time skip

Merchandise sales will double globally.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

- New Super Saiyan form. 2015 give us SSj Blue and 2016 give us SSj Rose and SSj Rage. I think 2017 will give us something new.

- Season 2 DLC pack announce for XV2

- No new video game in 2017 (Save XV3 for 2018)

- Universe Survival Arc may be Toriyama's last arc and everything after that is from Toei

Super won't end (it probably won't end in 2018 either).

We'll get 2 new arcs in 2017 and a 3rd one announced for 2018.

XV2 will get a surprising 5th DLC pack.

Kai and Super will get 3 parts each released in the US.

We'll get at least 1 Toriyama interview.

We'll get a new video game from a different developer.

XV3 will be announced in December for a fall 2018 release.

A new movie will be announced and possibly released in the fall.

Viz will release the full color Cell arc.

We might (hopefully not) get a new Ssj form in Super.

The arc is already finished so if that was the case then they would've announced it as his last one to get the most viewes out of fans.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

You never know. The Buu saga had no real final arc announcement and neither did the Shadow Dragon arc in GT.

Why fans keep insisting on a new movie being announced soon?
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

- Hatano Morio will leave Dragon Ball Super for the new Saint Seiya anime and Super will be fucked forever.

- Hatano will gather a good team with all Toei aces and direct a new movie. This is something I want and I know it will not happen. But, a new movie with Yamamuro as lead is possible.

- The Universe survival story arc will be just another tournament with no twists.

- Universe survival story arc will not be able to live up to the once again sky high expectations of the majority of the fans. I won't be disappointed at least cause I have very low expectations.

- Dragon Ball Super will end in 2017 and Dragon Ball Super 2 will be announced for 2018. Xenoverse storylines will be adapted in it is my guess.

I think opinions on it will change once it's over cause we'll know the whole story and have time to think about it.

Why do you think they'll change it to Super 2 instead of just continuing Super ?

-Super won't end
-The tournament will be as uneventful as the previous one
-none of the universes actually get destroyed
-most of the battles won't be that well animated because the time necessary to do a good job on them doesn't exist
-The tournament will last into June
-no Planet Salad until fall, if that

• Super will continue for a long time
• It would be extremely disappointing to see our favorite characters job and many would consider dropping super
• Nobody will drop super in the end
• Forget secondary character, Gohan will not be given any role at all ( seriously this one needs to be wrong )
• Toyotaro ia going to be involved greatly with anime making and quality will be improved
• Berrus will be surpassed

That's also something what I want. If someone in the committee and whoever is managing this has a brain will end Super to give a break to the staff which is much much needed. The awful schedule can also be fixed.

I'd love for this to happen cause Toriyama or whoever's writing will get more time to do so and the staff will be able to plan everything out but I really doubt they'll stop it.

The best we can hope for is a small team working on filler episodes after a main arc while a bigger, main team works on the canon episodes behind the scene.

This actually has a need to happen, all I see is win win.. they have to have some other show to fill in its time slot if its taking a break though..

More manga spin-offs. I would also like to see another video game for PC (not XV3).

Exactly which is why I think it's counter productive. They'll be wasting resources on the new filler show. So two months of "filler" for Super is basically the same as if it were on a hiatus. I guess we'll see in April if it's had an effect or not but I'm feeling pretty positive.

Meh, doing on eleven weeks' worth of filler with a smaller staff isn't going to cut for a better production schedule for the Universe Survival arc. They have no pre-production, which hurts the series. It would be better if they stop producing the show. All those talents are being wasted.

- Kuririn will be 'bold' but not 'bold'
- VIZ will stop releasing chapters biweekly(at around March or April)
- Nobody will age(Even if Pan is 3 years)
- Dragon Ball Abridged will prosper
- Funimation DVD and Blu-ray releases

This is actually the only thing i want to happen (to make a series with a proper schedule).

My predictions:

Super won't end (but i can expect it being off due to issues with the schedule to then come back later).
Goten and Trunks won't do much unless there's a time skip.
-The universe survival arc will lead to something bigger (maybe one Zeno dies? idk)
I really miss ma boy, Black :(
