This. At this point Kai would be a hard sell. Even the leeway of “well it technically was made in 2009” doesn’t mean anything now . It’s an old show in every sense of the word.
Since Kix(?) aired the edited Funi version there’s probably no reason for any UK network to front the money for an Ocean dub.
I guess CN UK could have commissioned an Ocean Super dub if they really wanted one, but I doubt they'd want to invest in it when they can carry on funding their original cartoons, which will generate them royalties.

Re: When DBZ aired in the UK
I remember on Toonami they aired all of DBZ over 3 weekends starting 6am to 9pm. I recorded the whole series on VHS back then. I'd stop recording between ad breaks so I wouldn't need to many VHS tapes. I regret not recording it on Short play and using more VHS tapes to keep it higher quality but it would have been on like 20 VHS tapes or something, at the time there was no way I could afford it

Re: When DBZ aired in the UK
I remember them marathoning all of Z around mid 2003. I wish I'd recorded it all myself, but probably wouldn't have had enough tapes anyway. Still I probably could've recorded all the major fights if I'd had the foresight to do it.Sshadow5001 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 26, 2021 2:50 pm I remember on Toonami they aired all of DBZ over 3 weekends starting 6am to 9pm. Re: When DBZ aired in the UK
I dug through the difficult to use wayback machine, seriously am I using it wrong or is there not a better way to filter out the junk hentai sites when searching Cartoon Network
I did learn that you can search a domain and then any keywords that are in the domain+remaining URL that are archived
for example;
https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://uk.tv.yahoo.com/*
you can then filter results that contain keywords in result like tcn or dbz
please let me know if there is a better way to search in pages than the default search.
Some great info came from UK TV Yahoo about Saga Sunday,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulyagUynP_8
I will dump the remaining links of interesting bits of data I found during the treasure hunt so future people don't have to waste their time doing it and can simply build on the research.
The info in this thread in general is accurate, but we are missing info here and there and some posts don't have any sources to reference.
It would be great if we had sources for all info so other people can pick up and check out what has been checked already and hopefully build on the research of others and get more information collaborated
Like where are these dates from? I searched ukdb.net and found only the CNX lineup that is wrong from ep 260 I think

You can use this site to view ratings for selected periods,Cure Dragon 255 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 3:37 am Can someone get me solid ratings data on Dragon Ball Z airing on the UK?
https://www.barb.co.uk/viewing-data/weekly-top-10/
>Select no channels >select Cartoon network > select date
It only has data for CN and not CNX it seems, but the data might have been available for when the channels where active if you get the BARB data directly on request.
Using the Python Requests library, it would be possible to write a script to get the data for the period DBZ aired on CN buy manipulating the POST request header
method=POST&station%5B%5D=174&period%5B%5D=200101060128
(Someone on Fiverr would be able to get this data for you for literally $5-10)
Alternatively, you could reach out to one of the official BARB partners and request the data for DBZ, they have access to the official data, it might be more detailed and have possible episode numbers, and all the air times and not just the top 10
It could be worth sending a few companies in the list an email to quote a price for the DBZ data they have from 2000-2003
or WHAT data they have to see if it includes air dates and ep numbers, that could be of great value to the community.

Re: When DBZ aired in the UK
Yeah I was going to say say check barb for ratings. I'd imagine the ratings were at their highest back when Z was still on Cartoon Network, rather than later on when it was on CNX or the Toonami UK channel. The majority of Z made its UK debut on Cartoon Network (or on its short lived Toonami block).
It was huge on Cartoon Network around 2000-2002 when it was this awesome new thing. They were constantly having marathons of it, and re-ran the hell out of every saga. It was so awesome watching it as a kid back then.
