Saying that over and over again doesn't make it true.
Here's a BIG difference - Vegeta loves fighting. He's a warrior through and through. Freeza isn't that interested in fighting. He considers it base. He'll do it if he has to, but it doesn't give him the thrill that it does Vegeta. He's more interested in the stolen wealth and power he gets from being emperor, which isn't as big of a deal to Vegeta as evidenced by Vegeta staying on Earth after Freeza's defeat. Freeza considers himself a gentleman.

Dude Cell was the least popular villain in japan and Frieza is the most popular there.

Also Frieza was never a retcon you never read the manga properly.

The Saiyan saga already hinted that Frieza's existence but you obviously never get the memo.
