I was very content with the ending of Dragon Ball GT

Post by Bardo117 » Thu Sep 28, 2017 2:09 pm

And now we end the story of the Dragonballs with the hope that the Earth will never again see the kind of darkness that brought it close to extinction so many times. But if that day comes, there is one who will step out of the shadows and fight in the name of all that is good and true!

That quote gets me every time I watch the ending!

Watch the Episode in Japanese because they said completly different thing in it and dub changed the lines completly here.
I prefer Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, DB/Z/GT Movies, Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT in Japanese.
For DBZ Kai and two new Movies I like both Dub and Sub. I Prefer Shunsuke Kikuchi Soundtracks over All other Composers.

Seen it, enjoyed it but I didn't really like Dan Dan playing throughout. It detracted from the epicness of Goku's journey....

It's not about the epicness in that moment. It's about saying good bye.

One of the few things GT did right was ending the story but I wish they could've done something other than killing everyone off after a 100 year time skip. Hopefully Super can find some kind of balance between the original's open ending and GT's closed one.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Be honest, when you compare Funi GT to LatAM GT which fares better?

This forum is so over-dramatic that it's not even funny.

Well the FUNI GT version. Like I said, the Dan Dan song really doesn't inspire me or make me feel teary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPwNUmlgPKw and in the Spanish Version the narrator barely says anything...

Are you serious? You think this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPwNUmlgPKw, is more emotional than this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej1mMEF2xaE. I don't see whats emotional about some generic edgy guitar. Even most dub fan's I've met prefer the JPN OST for GT.

For that specific moment I think I'll always love the music and the English narrators take on the ending.

It's all personal taste I guess, or maybe nostalgia.

I would've liked this song to be used instead, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SufVKpfdpKU

Not only the generic guitar ruined it but the Narration in the Dub totally changed the meaning of the lines.

Yes, my favourite part about GT was that it ended.
Z-Fighters fan.

Goku, Yamcha, Krillin, Tien, Chiaotzu, Yajirobe, Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Android 18, Goten, Trunks and Majin Buu.

I loved the ending montage / epilogue

Except for one thing; the exclusion of so many big moments in the series. I'd love to see it re-edited to include those.

Hopefully when Super links to GT (outside of Vegeta wearing his GT costume in the manga), we'll get something like that.

Do you mean by making it longer or just swapping out certain moments in the montage for others?

Swapping out or cutting in a few different shots.

There is no mention whatsoever of Tien, Chiaotzu, Vegeta, Trunks, King Kai, King Yemma, etc., and the Saiyan, Garlic Jr. (understandably so, admittedly), Super 17, and Shadow Dragon Sagas aren't referenced. I don't believe Frieza is either, though I may be mistaken.

Dan Dan always felt like a Dragon ball(original DB) type song and didn't fit the seriousness of GT.

It felt more like a Farewell song which fitted the theme of the show.

Completely true. Some of us have similar opinions, but in this case I think not.
