Yeah, I think I'll stick with my Dragon Boxes. This doesn't look good at all or worth the price point.

I think it looks OK. Far from the perfect release but also not the worst.
I was actually thinking the same thing, that it at least looked better than what the first trailer seemed to show us.

Overall though...ehh. I just find it really hard to get that motivated about this release, and I think at the end of the day, it's a mix of the footage still not being as great as we'd hope, but also the price. $350 is a fair enough price for the entire series in one go, and far better than what I was expecting it to go for, but...well, I don't really need or want the art book. Or the figure. Or honestly even the packaging. I just need the show itself. On-disc extras would be nice, but beyond that, I'm good.

So if we actually were to get this version released again later in a more barebones manner, spread across nine "season sets" again (or seven sets like the Dragon Boxes), then yeah, I'd probably jump on it. But at the moment, just not enough going in favor of it to keep me interested.
Same here, i already have the Dragon Boxes for the most part so even if this does eventually get re released separately in stores later broken into individual releases i really don't have much interest in it seeing as i've already got what i personally consider to be by far the definitive way to watch the series.
Maybe it’s just me but if they listen to the fans and give us the before for this product imo it will be more accurate color wise than the Dragon Boxes. Am I wrong on this opinion?

Just found out about the blog post which seems to have been taken down since. Did anybody save all of the before images? They might be the only way we ever get to see those frames that way.

No, i mean there is certainly a possiblity that FUNi could indeed go back and correct it to the ones on the left side with the before side if enough fans make their voices heard and demand it of them.Though even still this set likely still won't be a complete package like the Dragon Boxes so i will likely still hang onto them.

DB collection related goals as of now:

2.) Collect rest of manga

3.) Get rest of Daizenshuu (2-7)

That’s the thing though I have my complete package Dragon Box just once I would like to watch the series with the most accurate colors. Kai is as close as we have.

It flows precisely and fluidly from where things left off in the aftermath of the 23rd Budokai and mostly hits the ground running from there without really stopping to look back. You're plopping someone into the middle of a book starting at chapter 195 out of 519 for absolutely no good goddamn reason, with very minimal opportunity to look back at much needed context and character/story growth.

I mean a color corrected release with the complete Dragon Box presentation would be really nice.

I mean, there's still plenty of time for them to work on the set so they could potentially do so.
I can imagine Fukanaga in his office being handed the tweets. "You mean we DON'T EVEN HAVE TO USE DNR to appease these people?!"

Also, sad, sick joke: Funimation announced each boxset will come with a small bag of maize with the note "Here's your grain".
For the love of god, don't give them ideas!
They're not updating the numbers for the reseverations anymore?

Don't think so, he could be non-US. If what MadSpecialist is seeing is this:
Not found, error 404

The page you are looking for no longer exists. Perhaps you can return back to the site's homepage and see if you can find what you are looking for. Or, you can try finding it by using the search form below.
...then he isn't accessing the site from a US location, same as me.

True, cause they're the ones who have those good quality film prints in their archives.

I'm guessing it must be geo blocked to only here in the States, if he's not able to access it from whichever country he's in.

In my case, I unfortunately only have two of the Dragon Boxes, One and Five. My collection is made up primarily by the Orange Brick Season Sets, which while I'm able to deal with more than most fans (I'm of the mindset that, after years of thinking I wouldn't be able to own the whole franchise, I'm just happy to freakin' own it! ), so...I'm well overdue for an upgrade. But with this one just looking 'okay' at best, not to mention that price all in one go, it's just not worth it to me.
KBABZ wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2019 8:14 am Given the way the boxes are laid out in the Black Brick, I actually think if these were to be sold individually, they'd be in four "Arc Sets", with a Saiyan set, a Frieza set, a Cell set and a Buu set.
Hmm, maybe? Though man, talk about varying episode counts. The Saiyan set would be absolutely minuscule compared to those other three. Can't imagine the varying price between them at that rate too, but all things told, they'd probably still be much more affordable at any given time. Probably. Hopefully.

Yeah i get what you mean, and i'm indeed really lucky that i have gotten all but two of the volumes for good (almost bargain level compared to some prices for them i've seen) deals under $100 although i am currently watching a fairly decent deal for Box 7 on eBay so fingers crossed on that.

Good catch

The discs are labelled as seasons so if they weren't going to separate them later they would've just numbered them normally.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

244 orders till it hits 3000. Whether FUNimation releases it properly or not, they have yet to confirm but I wouldn't count on it.

You may be right. I'll assume for the Black Bricks Funimation will redo the number of episodes per disc since it's a complete package of Z over 36 discs (same as the Blu-Seasons), which averages out to 8 episodes per disc, with two discs having 9 (yes I know they're labelled Seasons but I can't find a place that tells me what all the disc divisions are). If we have each box cover the Arc as represented by the cover villain, it'd go like this:
  • Vegeta Box: Discs 1-5 (Raditz to Fake Namek Arrival)
  • Frieza Box: Discs 6-14 (Vegeta Healed to Piccolo and Krillin Were Just Pretending To Be Infected)
  • Cell Box: Discs 13-25 (Vegeta Murders Appule Clones to Great Saiyaman's Debut)
  • Buu Box: Discs 26-36 (Gohan Dates Angela to Goku Abandons His Family Forever)
And yeah you're totally right, the Vegeta Box would have half the usual disc count, while the Buu Box has double! So here's what an even division would look like:
  • Vegeta Box: Discs 1-9 (Raditz to Goku/Ginyu Rematch)
  • Frieza Box: 10-18 (Vegeta Kills Jeice to Cell Escapes Piccolo)
  • Cell Box: 19-26 (Gero Lab Destruction to Goku Meets Goten)
  • Buu Box: 27-36 (Vegeta Destroys Punching Machine to Goku Abandons His Family Forever)
So that's ALSO lopsided, but in a very different way!
