By using a generic anime upscaling filter.
haha i don't think so, this is what the opening looks like after upscaling it,
just compare them

Upscaled

Remastered?

It isn't the same as upscaling. It's similar to Funimations DNR and sharpening filters which actually removes detail that's normally contained in the film grain (note how all the backgrounds look like watercolour paintings).

It's a joke description, it's most definitely an upscale/cc.

the whole channel is more or less ironic if you look at it.
I have borderline personality disorder, if my posts ever come off as aggressive or word vomit-y to you, please let me know.

CNXToonami? Ah, that's one of Enigmo's channels.

......

No further comment.

Enigmo has 2 channels where the dude just jerks himself off 24/7. Dude literally told me he has a "built ego" because of years of doing whatever he's been doing with DB. He's constantly disrespectful to others & can't take criticism or being called out.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Not to mention all those Dragon Ball "remaster" videos on the aforementioned YouTube channel, where he just cranks up the filtering to the max and poorly color corrects scenes. He is so full of himself and clearly can't take a hint that his stuff is garbage.

I've seen his replies to comments in some of said videos before and wow, what a jerkwad.

DB collection related goals as of now:

1.) Find decent priced copy of Dragon Box Z Vol. 4 (Done)

2.) Collect rest of manga

3.) Get rest of Daizenshuu (2-7)

He reeks of the arrogance & over-inflated bad ego of Doug Walker, where he thinks he's revolutionary, but in reality isn't doing anything for anybody but making people more stupid than they were 5 minutes before they watched his shit, y'know? Now look what's happened to Doug. Most of his longtime friends have abandoned him & most of the fanbase that was good people have stopped watching him.

So true, all those CNXToonami so called remaster videos in particular look no better than the awful crap FUNi has done a la the 30th Anniversary set. It's obviously a bunch of over filtered and contrasted trash.

Here are some notable examples i found:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=you ... vqJLD68vW4 (Clearly an upscale from the Dragon Box)

Like, I'm just asking, but is he even friends with Kei17 & does Kei17 actually have raw film of the shows? I've heard of him, even seen him a few times on this forum, but I don't know if these things I've heard about him are even true. No disrespect, I'm just making sure.

kei17 has his own youtube channel where he uploads his collection from time to time. In this video he shows his film scanning making of a random dragon ball episode.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BnCXYbRfeU

For some reason he kept sharing his collection with this Enigmo guy who kept spreading lies after lies.

The only difference I see is that the two are using slightly different, but both ultimately pretty shitty, upscalers. Both have the telltale look of a shitty upscale, and both ultimately look just as awful as Funimation's HD releases of the Z series, but instead of being based off of a HD scan, it's based off of mediocre DVD footage. Not worth your time in the least.

Also note that "Remastered?" is the channel of CNXToonami aka Enigmo, an attention-seeking troll who got banned from these forums a while ago. Not a word of truth comes outta that guy's mouth, and not a single video of his isn't a lie in some way. Often this is quite obvious, such as his repeated claims that he has "the master audio", which he's quite eager to explain comes from his "uncle at toei".
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

I hate trolls like that. I once got one a while ago that trolled me on my Power Rangers & Super Sentai DVD videos that hated Sentai with a goddamn passion & said he was a "Power Rangers purist," whatever THAT means, & shit like that. I never get trolls. Nothing they ever do is legitimately funny & they make themselves look like dumbasses more than anything.

Gen Fukunaga IS the kid with an uncle at Toei. LOL.

Enigmo = Gen Fukunaga. It all makes sense now...the 30th set was an elaborate troll scheme to get back at the hardcore fan base for trashing his "remasters".

But seriously I'm not sure what his videos and trolling are meant to be..is there some sort of underlying message to his trolling that I'm missing..is he mocking people who actually want a good remaster? Does he actually think his content looks good?
DB, Z, and GT subbed are my "canon".

CNXToonami has very nice looking remasters, better than anything we have at the moment, seems like snob levels have been turned to the extreme here.

They aren't "remasters", though. It's the exact same kind of shitty filtering SelectaVision used on their crap Blu-ray sets of OG DB, on the same source material (standard-def Dragon Box footage).
Upscaling algorithms that destroy detail, used hand in hand with shitty DNR and sharpening, just like Funi uses on their Blu-rays of the Z series...
The only real difference is CNXToonami at least isn't the worst at colour correction.

But, even if his methods weren't shit, you shouldn't drink his kool-aid; again, CNXToonami is Enigmo, a toxic troll who's been known to doxx people (including friends of mine), he was one of the people who harassed Kei about broadcast audio a while back (allegedly he even got Kei's phone number and texted him?)... Oh, and he had that broadcast audio for quite a while. But he was quite keen to attempt to sabotage any and all efforts to give the broadcast audio to official hands, while bragging about all this stuff he has, talking shit about everyone involved in the effort to recover the broadcasts (largely lies, what he said, but people believed it; his remasters are flashy, and tend to take a lot of people in, and get them to believe the bile he spews). I even have evidence he was selling the broadcast audio (as well as his own shitty filtered versions of some bits that he claims to be the "master audio"), thus profiting off its obscurity, and his reputation for having this stuff he boasts about.

CNXToonami/Enigmo is toxic, pathetic filth. But even that gives him too much credit; he's gum on our shoe, really. He's annoying, but as long as we're aware of the problem, we can be rid of him, and move on with our lives. So I suggest you do that; ignore him, and move on with your life.
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

This person you’re railing on does not appear to have anything to do with the subject at hand (Funimation’s anniversary set), so please ignore them and continue only on-topic. Thank you!
