Dragon Ball and the Seven Deadly Sins manga

Post by DragonBallFoodie » Thu Mar 26, 2020 1:18 pm

Does anyone think Nakaba Suzuki's Seven Deadly Sins fantasy adventure manga has a lot of similar themes/tones with Dragon Ball? Suzuki said he read Toriyama as a child and it made a distinct impact on him. I could see it in some of his artwork/design.

That's definitely a Bulma-style outfit, isn't it?

This guy looks like an evil Gohan.

There may be other references, though I can't be too sure.
"Don't take pleasure in destruction!" / "I will not let you destroy my world!"
A true hero goes beyond not the limits of power, but the limits that divide countries and people.

I honestly feel like if its a shonen manga that came out after 1995 its just bound to have a Dragon Ball influence somewhere.

Pretty much. It's like pointing out that any recent space opera has some influence from Star Wars.
Cool stuff that I upload here because Youtube will copyright claim it: https://vimeo.com/user60967147
