How would you feel about a (non live action) Dragon Ball reboot?
I've always wondered what it would be like if a western company like IDW comics or Marvel acquired Dragon Ball and made a reboot.
IDW, Marvel, and Dark Horse made Godzilla comics. IDW and Archie have made Sonic comics too. The list goes on. Japan is known to make manga versions of American properties too.
Comics aside, there's a number of animation studios that could do a competent job with Dragon Ball. Imagine a cartoon made by the Ben 10 or Young Justice crews.

I don't particularly look forward to the work of any western creators in this respect. I do believe that anyone should be able to make their own version of DB at this point but I'm not particularly looking forward to a vision from any big western corporation.

The directors better be DB fans or else it will likely be horseshit

It would probably be awful for the simple reason that Vegeta and Piccolo would be "nice" from the start and all the sexual innuendo from the early eps would never fly today. No Goku checking to see if Bulma has a penis, none of Roshi's perverted antics, no Bulma pulling up her dress, etc.
It would be sanitized greatly.

I don't think it needs one.
The first 3 dragon ball movies, retold DB's moments. And Kai sort of rebooted DBZ sorta.
As far as manga that's a different animal. I'm personally fine without any reboots. They don't tend to work as well as the originals and majority winds up getting upset that they temper with that story to begin with.

True. I kinda of meant like in terms of popularity and the franchise.
