Does character power ups no longer shake the world?

Post by Anonymous Friend » Fri May 13, 2022 7:47 pm

It seems like very new powerup interoduced, shakes the planet and threatens to split it apart. But the next time that character powers up, nothing happens. Until the next big powerup.

Was everyone just being over dramatic. Including the planet and buildings?

I've thought about this, and I treat it like Goku and Super Saiyan 3. They're not used to the technique and over time they become much more efficient in controlling it, meaning they just "snap" into their powered up forms.

Maybe planets have a life of their own which allows them to grow stronger:

It could have happened after that.

don't think too hard about it. It's less logical and more emotional: meant to sell you how powerful a character is getting from a purely visceral perspective.

Wasn't Goku shaking the whole universe and infinite void in Battle of Gods and the Tournament of Power?

I think that's it. Unexperience with the power up. Perhaps not powering up on a regular basis, makes it more flashy, like with Freeza.
UI Goku did not shake Cereal-sei or Beerus' planet, but he did so on Earth vs Moro the first time. Didn't do it the second time before destroying Moro.

Also, probably some do it to instill fear on the opponent, to psyche them out. Perhaps to rev themselves, too. Vegeta, on Earth, probably did it to mine Goku's confidence.

This topic was somewhat brought to mind with the recent Death Battle episode of Vegeta v Thor. And how SSG almost destroyd the universe when punching Beerus. I don't blame them for using things stated in the material.

I think only the ones dictated by prophecy (Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan God) can make an impact like that.
"Don't take pleasure in destruction!" / "I will not let you destroy my world!"
A true hero goes beyond not the limits of power, but the limits that divide countries and people.

Power ups have never been consistent them shaking the planet is mainly for dramatic effect

Take Vegeta powering up against Goku back in the saiyan Saga Goku said it fely like the earth was shaking.Realistically MUI Goku should destroy the solar system by powering up alone since he's in a different realm compared to Saiyan Saga Vegeta

Goku Black was also shacking the world and destroying buildings when he turned into Rosé for the first time.

Fused Zamasu was shacking the city just by creating his Halo.
