In the Greek dub of DBZ the Androids are called Gamma 16, Gamma 17, Gamma 18 etc. The Greek translator might have thought that the C in C-17 for example represents the 3rd letter of the alphabet which is Γ (Gamma) in the Greek one.

This mistake continued in DBGT and the Movies even though they were dubbed from a different studio. In the Greek dub of DBS this mistake doesn't exist.

And that's an interesting mistake since now in the new movie we have new Androids that are called Gamma.

Ironically, “Android” is derived from the Ancient Greek word “andros” (which means “man”)
