$400? Wow. That's really good. I got them for $400 each back in 2012 or 2013 or something like that. That's pretty good since I've seen them for $100,000 on eBay (why even put up that listing?). I feel ripped off paying $800 for the Dragon Ball Dragon Box

I finally started on buying the Blue Bricks. I also completed my pitifully small (obviously) Level Set collection, now I have all my favorite episodes in beautiful HD.
Oh, and the last volume of FC Freeza Arc. Don't know why I buy these, I don't like them at all.
Retired.

It's not often that you're able to get your hands on a dream item.
Today, that dream came true for me:
Atsumare! Goku Warudo (Or "Gather Together! Goku World") is an animated feature that was released in 1992 for the Japan exclusive toy/video game system "Terebikko" only in Japan. This feature is RARELY ever brought up in official material, so much so that it seemed to be lost to time for a while. I don't recall this feature EVER being brought up online (unlike Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans, which is a similar situation but far more well known in comparison).
Even the two Japanese Dragon Boxes for DBZ, which were released in 2003 and came with two bonus discs jam packed with incredibly rare/unreleased footage, like various product/video game ads from the 80s/90s and even PTETS... not even a mention of this elusive Terebikko animation.
VegettoEX might be able to elaborate here, but I don't think this thing even found its way online until the late 2000s, when someone finally recorded, uploaded and subbed the special. Ever since I first found out about its existence, I wanted to get my hands on it.
I started really getting into Dragon Ball collecting at the beginning of 2016, and this tape quickly ended up at the top of my wishlist. However, I had NEVER seen it for sale before. It seems like the tape, or anything Terebikko related, were never sold on ebay. So I started exploring Yahoo Auctions Japan. A handful of VHS' and the Terebikko hardware itself popped up, but the Atsumare Goku tape was nowhere to be found.
What followed was a daily ritual for about 8 months straight: I went on yahoo auctions and searched for "Terebikko" every. fucking. day. I was convinced it was never going to pop up... I had never even heard of the Terebikko in my life, so this thing must have had a super small production run. I continued to search for it, but never expected it to actually pop up.
Then... it happened.
The tape appeared on yahoo auctions. I had to stand up for a moment and take a breath. I legit couldn't believe what the fuck I was seeing. THE DREAM ITEM.
I proceeded to sit down, and then entered my max bid, which was the digital equivalent of this:
Lets just say... I got well into the triple digits. There was no fucking way anyone was going to outbid me on this. No fucking way.
In the end, I won the auction. THE TOTAL COST WAS $30. MY FUCKING DREAM IS WORTH THIRTY FUCKING DOLLARS WHAT IS THIS WORLD
Anyways, it feels pretty weird actually owning a #1 dream item for a certain hobby. Like... I guess I can go on to collect the rest of the Dragon Boxes and Daizenshuu and stuff, but I got THE dream item. The rarest piece of commerically available Dragon Ball animation ever produced.
and that's pretty cool.
oh, and I guess I can update my signature now

Good for you. I don't really care about owning that kind of stuff, but I'm glad some people are out there keeping it alive.

I'd love to, but I'd have to track down the Terebikko hardware first!
I also have a recurring nightmare when it comes to popping in rare, out of print tapes...

Those Lunch figures are awesome. Not only are the boobs lovingly crafted, but so are the arm pits and stomachs. I simply love how her flesh seems to spill over her tight clothing!

I picked up some Dragon Box the Movies singles. Movie 1 came with like an insert on top that I placed on top of the movies. It's one of those things that changes when you move it at different angles. I can't remember exactly what they're called.
