Considering the possible changes being made to the Giant Ape form how might the Super Saiyan forms be handled?

Golden glowing hair and an accompanying flashy aura is probably a lot more marketable than a multi-story tall monkey. I don't forsee any major changes, if any at all.

I'm thinking a muscle power up or some sort of golden aura, I'm not sure if the hair will change.

However it's handled it probably won't look right. Especially on Justin Chatwin. Unless he grows his hair a bit longer. They'll probably just make his hair all spiky and golden with a shimmering aura.

Unless I missed something, that's what Super Saiyan looks like. :/

A transformation like this would be very fun foreshadowing. Except, ya know, it'd be an 18 year old Chatku and not our adorable 12 year old Kakarrot.

Pretty much this.
I can't imagine them using the ssj hair if only because they've ditched things like Goku's tail, Bulma's blue hair, Kinto'un, and Piccolo being green. :( The hair would be too fantastic for what the writers/directors want.

With the right video editing: no special effects (aside from the aura, if any). They just bleach his hair or give him a wig.

Yeah but I mean it won't look right in real life. By that I mean it probably won't look as cool as it should. Like Wolverine's yellow spandex...(Probably a bad example.)

I don't see any reason why Super Saiyan would change in appearance. The oddly-colored hair wouldn't have the same problems with "realism" like Bulma's since it's a transformation. In that context, it's no different than what the Human Torch does.

Super Saiyan is the face of Dragonball in the US. They won't change it significantly.

Heh, they would probably end up spending the most time on the Super Saiyan becasue of this reason alone. This may end up being the best part of the movie franchise.

The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

I honestly can't imagine them changing much. It wouldn't be too difficult to handle and would look awesome as a combination of real life special FX and CGI. Plus, it would only have to be in like 10-20 minutes of the final movie, if they are in fact making a trilogy that ends with the Freeza arc.

EDIT: Oh, and for the "Muscle UP", a combination of having Chatwin lift heavy, CGI and Airbrushing would get the Job done, I mean if 300 can do it.

Why do people keep saying this? Those were their real muscles.

I never said there were no real muscles. But from what I understand, Tanning and Airbrushing was used to accentuate. Maybe not CGI, well, not unless you are Nicholas Cage in Ghost Rider.

You know it takes years to get that kind of muscles, and that's with steroid's. No joke.
