Enjoy your trashy Asian girl then. She's like the anti-Chichi considering how completely different the two are in terms of all around looks and personalities.
About personality:
Lindsay Lohan would be seen as an alcohol abusing, heavy partying, irresponsible girl, but still she was sweet (personality-wise) as a character in her movies.
What you do in your personal life doesn't determine how you will act.
That's what acting is about, to try to be another person/character.
It's like saying that someone married in real life cannot play a character that is single.

About looks:
Natalie Portman played a married woman when she was 15, and did great.
Jessica Alba can play both sexy and clumsy characters, as another example.
Actors play younger/older characters too, with success.
Compare Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker and Spiderman. Those are two different characters. He pulled them both off. Even though he has a baby-face.

What I am worried about in this movie is not the actors, but the story and design.

But, yeah, it looks like Chatwin is yawning...which isn't his fault, but more the photographer's...
No more time for Daizex. Goodbye folks!

Just a little more gas on the fire here for the people arguing over Chung.

A read somewhere a while back that she got arrested for drunk driving, she was also under the age of 21 at the time so it was illegal for her to be drinking anyway.

Doesn't mean it'll effect her performance as Chi-Chi.

Kind of have to agree on that point.

Actors/actresses from shows I've watched in the past have been arrested on drunk driving charges. All it shows is they made a stupid choice in risking their lives instead of getting someone to drive them home. (A sober, designated driver = not a difficult thing to get).

As for her acting skills; I saw some of that Samurai Girl tv/movie and wasn't all that impressed, but we'll see.

I worry more about the script itself than anything else.

I like 'em naughty...
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
The only potential redeemable quality I can see in this movie is the fighting.

I love how people are like, OMG! THiS MOVIE IS FULL OF NOBODIES!!!

Um, first of all, you know this actor right, Hugh Jackman, I am sure you have heard of him, he is a huge star. Guess what, before he was Wolverine, no one knew who the hell he was. I remember hearing that he was cast as wolverine, and all my X-men buddies were super pissed.

This movie could be a jump start for a lot of these actors. It could also do nothing for there careers. Who knows. People are often casted on how well the director thinks they portray the character, not based of star power. Also, I think that Joon Park quote was based off something that happened at his call back, not his first audition. And I am sure the story is exaggerated.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if movie Chichi's supposed to be a typical, stuck up, popular high school girl.
I'm talking about the particular picture of Chatwin as Goku (as in what this thread is about)... which has what to do with Asian girls?

Nothing! Now get off my ass!

I may not like this movie in general, but I got done raging over it a long time ago. Its all a big joke to me now.

Being a nobody in no way shape or form makes a person a bad actor, in fact quite a few of the stars that are well known, would probably fail a college acting class.

What are we even talking about here?

I was pointing out that she got arrested because people were backing her up for not being "trashy" and I wanted to throw this into it, it had nothing to do with her performance in the movie nor did I claim it to.

Who did back her up?
All I have seen is that people claim that being trashy doesn't decide whether you'll act better or not.

Yeah, her being a drunk driving, reality-tv participate doesn't make me think she'll be a bad Chi-chi.

Her acting in Samurai Girl, however...

So people are arguing about this now? You can't be serious....
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

RDJ's behavior became beneficial with Iron Man. :P

Anyways, has anyone actually looked up the studios and people behind the special and visual effects? I tried doing some research and this is what I came up with.

Ollin Studios is basically a Mexican studio with only a few films under their belt and they're barely noticable films (they're mostly foreign films). The one that stood out most is the upcoming movie, The Spirit which does look very promising, though is the only big name title of the lot aside from Dragonball. While being credited for having the task of special effects, they have done 11 movies (4 being for the US, 1 for Italy, 1 for France, 1 for China, and 4 for Mexico).

Zoic Studios has a few big names (Spider-Man 2, Talladega Nights, Van Hellsing, Day After Tomorrow and Zathura) but upon doing research, one will find they didn't have a whole lot to do with the visual effects with those movies and sometimes had very little involvement. An example taken from their site's explanation of their involvement with Day After Tomorrow: Zoic's team of artists created digital breath for 20th Century Fox's environmental disaster, Day After Tomorrow.

Looking around, they've mostly done TV special effects for CSI and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Funny enough, they did work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a show which Marsters himself appeared in.

As for Imagine Engine...I couldn't seem to find a single site regarding any information about them. IMDB has a listing for them with absolutely no information. I found through the Dragonball entry several people involved with the company, but they're all mostly experienced with cartoons, usually CG ones such as Stormhawks, though they're all credited as "pre-visualization artists." I'm thinking that just means they plan out how everything's going to be eventually done.

Aerial Shaw, the visual effects supervisor, may have had involvement with 300 and the Final Destination movies (as well as Nightmare Before Christmas), but looking up her background reveals she also had a hand with movies such as...Epic Movie, Freddy vs Jason, Scary Movie 2 and Contact.

Oddly enough, I really couldn't find anyone who's behind the martial arts choreography. I've seen a martial arts stunts coordinator, but I'm pretty sure that ain't the same thing.
