Well here is some news, according to IMDB (we know how reliable they are) The American Version of the film will be a whole 15 minutes longer than the International version.

That 15 extra minutes feels like wishful thinking to me.

I couldn't imagine FOX cutting 15 minutes from their international showings of a film and not the domestic. Especially for a franchise that originates overseas. Wouldn't you want to show the entire thing, including these mysteriously missing 15 minutes, to Japanese audiences considering that's where Dragon Ball is from?

This is true.

Any site where anyone can go in and alter the contents isn't often reliable.

I think someone on IMDB is just hoping there really is more out there to this movie.
I'd wager there's quite a bit of footage on the cutting room floor, but that's where they left it.

DBE would hardly be the first film to have an entire second film's worth of footage pretty up the floor of the cutting room.

Maybe, just maybe, the international print had to be rushed out due to commitments by FOX. Maybe the film wasn't entirely completed in time so they just put out what they had.
This isn't impossible, especially considering the Domestic Market is more important than the international one.
And I bet your saying "Then why did they put it out in Japan a month early?" Well, I can't answer that. I guess someone thought it was a good idea.

FOX did claim Japan got everything first. I guess that meant even over a completed film?

Well the Domestic Trailer had different scenes and alternate takes from the International one, so I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I can't help but wonder, if it was an unfinished version that was shown; the easiest way to tell would be that shot of Piccolo destroying Paris. (The mostly-smoke one versus the fire-engulfed-one).

You think Greg would be able to recall which explosion he saw?

It was proven a while back over at Jappo's board through use of actual photos of the same area of the city put up against the shots of the explosion.

Let me try and find the photos.

EDIT: Here's the best I could find.

The ones from Jappo's forums had full on shots of both photos so you could see people walking around in the square that's just out of frame.

Wouldn't be the first time. Michael Bay said he was editing Transformers the week of its' premiere.

If it is true, then some CG stuff may look a bit better.
