Information About Carddass Cards

Post by M-Vegeta » Sun Dec 05, 2004 10:48 am

Here's a link to the cards I'm talking about:

Does anyone have any information about them? I received them as a gift from a Japanese guy I met on-line. For 4 dubbed VHS tapes, he sent me a crap load of DBZ stuff. These were part of his gift.

Are they kinda of rare Items?

Any other random information about them would be cool.

They were very popular in France when Dragon Ball Z was king of the schools you could find them in Japanese in some shops but we also had a French translation for them. If the ones he sent you are the ones in your pictures, he sent you nice ones.

You could collect them or play with them, there were rules, power levels... It's easy to find them on e-bay France. I have a few of them somewhere i think...

I have a whole bunch of those also. I heard they were phone cards, but I'm not sure on that.

Didn't Bandai try to market Cardass in America at one point? I seem to remember seeing something like it in Toys R Us. Anyways, I don't know much about Cardass itself. One thing I know is that on one of my GT fansubs is a commercial for a mini Cardass card dispenser. It looked so neat and I wish I could find one on ebay.

It was sold in France, it was a coin bank you where you could also store your cards. It worked like the machines you found in stores at the time where you put a coin and got a card in exchange.

I've already seen two of them on e-bay. You should check from time to time you might find one.

Yeah, I scanned them myself (they were bigger, but crappy friendpages won't allow images bigger than 400pixels). I have like 50 or so of the regular Carddass cards. They're pretty neat.

Anyway, thanks.

If anyone has further info, please reply.

A comic store in Spain had one of those dispensers, and I got a really cool foil one of Super Saiyan 4 Goku! Power level 11! I've seen them on eBay, and apparently they also have them for other animes, Yu Yu Hakusho for sure! That be cool to play DB vs. YYH! Hiei vs. Vegeta!!

Is that how all the cards came, in dispensers? OR were you able to just buy them in packs?

Those Japanese, they have the coolest toys!

Pretty much, yeah... They'd either be stacked on one another or on stands.

Ooooo, that's the one! I'm a sucker when it comes to stuff like that. If it's gimmicky in any way, shape or form, I want it.
