Trunks' description of The Room of Spirit and Time

Post by SylentEcho » Wed May 18, 2011 2:33 am

When Trunks explains what his training with Vegeta in the ROSAT was like, how come we see him freeze and almost get impaled by icicles? We also see Vegeta training in fire.

This is really weird compared to what we've been shown later on in the room. It's just a hot, empty and endless space with a lot of gravity. So how come Trunks' description of it was so weird?

Because it's filler, and filler is sometimes weird and nonsensical.

Or maybe Trunks was hallucinating?

@topic title: IT WAS AWESOME.

I love undeserved hardship in shows. It makes for such fantastic stories.

I'd say it was metaphorically and dramatically representing the range of the air temperatures, since when Trunks enters the Room of Spirit and Time, he remarks in shock that it's hot, and when Goku and Gohan later enter, Goku explains that "the air temperature changes from 50 degrees all the way to minus 40".

The temperature actually ranges from -40 to 120 degrees.

He probably meant Celsius rather than Fahrenheit.

He may have meant Fahrenheit as well becuase as Popo states, not just anyone can train there. One could very easily die there.

Well, I was quoting straight from the Strength Checker.
Strength Checker wrote:Chapter: 377 (DBZ 183), P7.4
Goku: “It’s pretty tough. The air temperature changes from 50 degrees all the way to minus 40. It’s a completely white world where the atmosphere is only about 1/4th what it is on the Earth’s surface, and gravity is 10 times greater…”

Huh? -40~50 Celsius is the same as -40~120 Fahrenheit. The strength checker (and thus the Japanese version, I guess) uses Celsius, while Viz uses Fahrenheit. That's all the confusion is.
