And I disagree because never such a thing happened in Dr. Slump.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

how is vegito fighting as a candy beam not a gag? and Arale jumping through dimensions and cutting/ folding realms means dr slump with prep and Arale could hold their own against most of the dragonball verse.

Jeez, what I'm trying to say is that is no defined power or rules in gag manga. Everything happens without being bound by coherence or logic.
Just because a a gag character beats another gag character and the defeated character is never shown to defeat the winner after that, it doesn't mean that within that gag universe the defeated character couldn't possibly defeat him. That logic only applies to more serious manga. In gag manga pretty much anything can happen.
You are extrapolating hard power rules from a gag manga like you would from a shonen manga, and it simply doesn't work like that. A gag manga has no hard rules about power or about anything else.

Sorry to bump but I'm reading DBM and I wanted to know how strong Arale is; If she can cut realms doesn't that put her at Super Buu level? I know she is a gag character driven by plot but what's the strongest her manga portrayed her?Friezacooler wrote:how is vegito fighting as a candy beam not a gag? and Arale jumping through dimensions and cutting/ folding realms means dr slump with prep and Arale could hold their own against most of the dragonball verse.
Canon is Jaco, Dragon Ball except for EoZ, Dragon Ball Super anime and manga (both are separate canons)

Re: What if Arale came into Dragon Ball Z and beat the rival
Not necessarily. The weakest character we see busting through to other dimensions just by screaming is Super Buu, but that doesn't mean someone far below that level couldn't do something similar. It just would take more than just screaming for them to tear a hole between realms. If she can cut realms doesn't that put her at Super Buu level?
(Plus, that's the sort of thing that probably isn't always determined by raw power. If a character just happened to have abilities along those lines, being able to tear open holes between dimensions shouldn't require some absurdly obnoxiously high power level. Kinda like how different methods of flight don't seem to require the same ki investment--Piccolo could fly without wearing himself out at all at the start of the Saiyan saga, while Goku relied on his cloud because flying tired him out too fast... and Goku was slightly stronger at this point in the series, so it definitely wasn't due to a difference in power. And later on in the Saiyan saga Goku still gets somewhat exhausted by flying long distances, even when he's way stronger than he was at the beginning of the series.)
Re: What if Arale came into Dragon Ball Z and beat the rival
Dr. Slump is a gag manga. DBZ is an action shonen. The genres themselves explain what would or would not happen if Arale meets Freeza or Buu-In a gag manga, she would crush them. In an action shonen, it's obviously in reverse. In a way, you can say that when Goku stopped by Penguin Village, It wasn't Arale cameoing in Dragonball, it was Goku cameoing in Dr. Slump. Either way, Arale's strength depends on what genre she is in, otherwise, Arale would've came after Super Buu sometime after his Human Extincition attack.

Because Buu would have destroyed Arale. In fact, he most likely did when he destroyed Earth (at the latest). Gag logic does not make a character invincible; there were beings within Dr. Slump that were stronger than Arale.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Gag logic left the Rabbit Gang able to survive in space. Gag characters are as invincible as the author wants them to be.RandomGuy96 wrote:Because Buu would have destroyed Arale. Sure it does. Roger Rabbit said something about Toons only capable of extraordinary things when it's funny, and nothing is funnier than a little robot girl "wrestling" up a giant piece of talking gum that should be capable of stopping her. But in a serious show like DBZ, yeah you're right Arale would be creamed. But if Buu pulled the same crap in Dr Slump, well...RandomGuy96 wrote:Gag logic does not make a character invincible;

Re: What if Arale came into Dragon Ball Z and beat the rivals?
Considering this thread seems to have ended in 2014 (long before Dragon Ball Super Episode 69), I figured I, a massive Dr. Slump fan, would throw in my two cents.
If we were to take into account what we witnessed in Dragon Ball Super Episode 69 in that Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Super Saiyan Blue) Son Goku doubted his ability to beat Arale Norimaki, than it’s fair to say that any being in Dragon Ball-Dragon Ball Z would be clapped HARD by Arale.
By the way, she isn’t even the strongest character in Dr. Slump (as some of you pointed out).

Wasn't Beerus shown to be effectively untouchable to her in that episode?Akirale Torimaki wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 2:02 pm Considering this thread seems to have ended in 2014 (long before Dragon Ball Super Episode 69), I figured I, a massive Dr. Slump fan, would throw in my two cents.

One could argue, and if he can beat Arale, that can mean other Gods of Destruction, and by proxy their angels, the Grand Priest, and Zeno can take her out…hell with Zeno no amount of gaggery can save Arale…Polyphase Avatron wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 2:29 pmWasn't Beerus shown to be effectively untouchable to her in that episode?Akirale Torimaki wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 2:02 pm Considering this thread seems to have ended in 2014 (long before Dragon Ball Super Episode 69), I figured I, a massive Dr. Slump fan, would throw in my two cents.

I think DB earth being different to slump earth means they are two different arales.
So slump arale wins through sheer power or gags.
DB arale caps out at I dunno Piccolo Sr. Perhaps gagforce is weaker in DB universe than slumps.
They never send her out despite the fact they'd have seen piccolo Cell and Buu and the future androids on TV in penguin village but she never shows up.

Yamcha almost certainly did not cheat on Bulma:
He was afraid of Women, Bulma was the flirty one.
Yamcha wanted to get married (it was his gonna be his wish)
He suggested they settle down in the Trunks saga.
Alternate future Trunks is not a reliable source.
Toriyama wanted new SSJ Kids and not make new characters.
