Stupid but believable and in character
We all make mistakes and the characters of Dragon Ball are no exception. Like Vegeta getting arrogant enough to let Cell reach his perfect form. It was unbelievably dumb but it's like Cell said, he's a Saiyan and craves challenges to test his skills and overcome so he may get stronger. And hey, this is the same Vegeta that was hardheaded enough to take on Freeza's final form and find out the hard way that he couldn't win. Plus, he was an anti-hero then.
Re: Stupid but believable and in character
Kuririn not destroying the controller because he mistook a demeaning kiss for anything but that. Despite her attractiveness, nothing good aside from Kuririn's own happiness and a daughter that did nothing was gained by letting her live. However, his horn-dog mentality in conflict with his buddy-buddy personality was completely in-character. The dumb side just ended up winning this time around. If he really gave a crap about her that much, he could have destroyed her with the controller, thus preventing Cell's perfection, and then just revived her with the Dragon Balls after.
Re: Stupid but believable and in character
I guess the idea of killing her alone was too terrible to even consider. Honestly, I'd have him put the controller in his gi's pocket and it'd get destroyed when Cell came for them like it falls out and Cell destroys before anyone else can get it.OzzyApu wrote:If he really gave a crap about her that much, he could have destroyed her with the controller, thus preventing Cell's perfection, and then just revived her with the Dragon Balls after.

Goku rushing off to get Tambourine (was that him?) after Krillin was killed. He didn't know who it was or how strong they were but damn it, he would never let them get away with killing his best friend.

Re: Stupid but believable and in character
Unless your referencing his pussy-ness from the Nappa fight, I'd say this really isn't in character, as he did it for his own sadistic pleasures. That really isn't Gohan's character.mysticboy wrote:Gohan not killing Cell when he had a perfect shot.

Justification: He couldn't kill Buu because people were inside of him and the Dragon Balls were inert.Rostir wrote:Vegito not killing Buu.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.
Re: Stupid but believable and in character
Hmm... not a bad explanation, and one that he used, but he really couldn't have just eviscerated Boo and gone to New Namek? I'm pretty sure with Dende alive that this would be a possibility, especially considering that the Kaioshins would have probably showed up to congratulate or something. Kill Boo, go with Dende and Kaioshins to New Namek, wish for Earth back to the way it was, boom - problem's already solved for the most part. Though if his decision was in-character then I can't just bring in more reasonable explanations.DBZAOTA482 wrote:Justification: He couldn't kill Buu because people were inside of him and the Dragon Balls were inert.Rostir wrote:Vegito not killing Buu.
As much as they really, really wanted Vegeta dead, they only kept him alive so that they could squeeze the life out of him in order to find out where the Dragon Ball he hid was.vegetaslegacy15 wrote:zarbon and Freeza not killing vegeta when he was unconcious in the pod.

Coola: Not killing Kakarotto, while his space pod left Planet Vegeta
Vegeta: Everything he did past Freeza Saga (Except Trunks, and coming up with idea to use Genki Dama on Buu)

To be fair, Goku alone as a 14 year old, as well as Gohan as a 9 year old managed to take care of the world's safety.hleV wrote:Goku trusting the world's safety to 7 & 8 year olds.
The kids needed guidance, which they got, and he left them with Piccolo (IMO the best decision).
If I were him, I'd do the same (especially since I had been forced to watch him torture my friends just moments before).mysticboy wrote:Gohan not killing Cell when he had a perfect shot.
First of all, they didn't know at first that he was dead. Second of all, Zarbon acted out of Freeza's orders.vegetaslegacy15 wrote:zarbon and Freeza not killing vegeta when he was unconcious in the pod.
Third of all, Freeza was an idiot.
It was in character in some way. The Gohan who always needed to be saved from these evil and ruthless guys finally became much stronger than the enemy, and took out all of his repressed aggressions on Cell.Insertclevername wrote: Unless your referencing his pussy-ness from the Nappa fight, I'd say this really isn't in character, as he did it for his own sadistic pleasures. In real life, Gohan's actions are very plausible at least.

Well, he was trying to get Vegeta to tell him where the DB he hid was and was going to beat it out of him. He didn't expect Vegeta's fast recover, a bit of an oversight.Godo wrote: Third of all, Freeza was an idiot.

Goku letting Gero go. Would have saved A LOT of trouble.

Re: Stupid but believable and in character
Piccolo's brilliant plan of letting himself get shot by #20 and lying around on the ground until Vegeta showed up.
Also Piccolo thinking that his weights would make a difference against Freeza.

I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Re: Stupid but believable and in character
Apparently as a boy when the Red Ribbon Army was destroyed. (Don't remember that). If he killed his ass like he was supposed to, you wouldn't see any Androids coming back to haunt the damn place. But then we wouldn't have cool characters like Trunks running about (well maybe/maybe not). Either way Trunks would serve no purpose.matt0044 wrote:When did he let him go?DarkPrince_92 wrote:Goku letting Gero go. Would have saved A LOT of trouble.
