Song Lyrics?

Post by Mochi » Wed Feb 25, 2004 4:56 pm

Hi.... i just made an account here. :D well, i've looked everywhere and i haven't found the lyrics to a song called Oomori Gohan (or something like that). Can anyone tell me where i can get them, or maybe translate the song for me in romanji?
Yes... I am... but you don't know that...

Julian's making his way through as many songs as possible ^^. We're concentrating on songs that appear in the actual series / movies, first. Image songs aren't really the highest priority, since you'll really only know them if you own the CD, rather than simply being a fan of the show :P.

Well... "Ômori Rice Boy" (which uses the kanji for Gohan's name in the title) is an image song, so it's not exactly a high priority for me at the moment. But... I'll see what I can do. Might be a while before I get around to it, but I'll give it a thought, at least.

Perhaps you should prioritize requests, Julian. If it's what the people want.

I'm not trying to be rude, but why don't you focus first on lyrics that aren't available on the 10000000 other DBZ sites that exist. I appreciate the hard work you put into it, but it isn't that usefull when I've seen the translations on Animelyrics.com a few months ago.

Furthermore, if you DID post lyrics like those for Rice Boy, your site would surely get more visitors.

Well, I'll get there, but I would like to take care of the main songs of the series, first. Also, the DBZ translations on AnimeLyrics.com aren't that great to begin with, so I'd like to have more definitive versions of those. Plus, aside from the Yamcha song, the inserts I have left haven't been fully translated by anyone. :)

But as I said before, I'll get to image songs eventually.

Lyrics for songs that all of a dozen American fans have heard? Somehow I doubt that.

If you compare the romanizations / translations of Julian's work to the crap you find on other sites, you'll notice a world of difference. Don't expect to see liner notes on the nuances in the translations on these other sites, either.

Definitely true EX. Trust me, as someone who's really into the music of DB, not many people not much about it, and of those that do, they're know that into it, even on this forum. And yes Julian's translations are excellent! :D Just go to a really well-known site like animelyrics.com or anythinggoes.com and you'll see what EX is talking about.

Animelyrics does have more DBZ song lyrics, but the lyrics here are way better. I requested the same lyircs at Animelryics, and they didn't even respond to me.... so they're evil.

I find they're out of it there a lot of times. :)
