Mirai means "future". You are comparing Future Trunks to Future Trunks, so I'm going to have to say the strongest between them is...Future Trunks. =P

Future Trunks due to him doing hard training to reach the grad forms then probably continuing his training to hold the peace of his timeline which would lead to him reaching Ssj2.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Future Trunks' likely trained over the years while Present Trunks slacked so... Future Trunks is the strongest.

That's news to me. I don't remember anything about this.

As for the topic, Future Trunks is stronger than Piccolo, who is stronger than Present Trunks. Fusion though is the trump card of Present Trunks.

They never said anything of the sort at any point in GT, so I don't know why you'd claim otherwise. The highest form Goten and Trunks individually had was Super Saiya-jin, that's it. If they were capable of anything higher, don't you think they'd try using it when trying to battle, or at least stall, Ii Shinlon?

I would like it if Goten and Trunks actually keep up their training somewhat in Super, instead of completely dicking off like they did in GT.

In the episode "Super Saiyan 4 Fusion", Goten mentions that at some point in the past, he and Trunks took the Super Saiyan 3 form, and then fused.

That's a dub-only line, and was most likely referencing Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, not the individual kids.
