Majin Buu used to be stronger than Beerus?
I've already have seen it on several websites, youtube and social media about this discussion, but is there a source about this? Did Toriyama ever said it by himself that Majin Buu was stronger than Beerus at some point? Sure it has now been confirmed that Beerus was the one that sealed the Old kai (which is for my opinion kinda stupid but ow well) still it's kinda interesting to hear this. It just give me a whole different view on Beerus's character..
So is this 100% true Majin Buu and I assume Kid Buu of course was at some point stronger than Beerus? And what do you guys think about this?

The Old Kaioshin said the guy who imprisoned him wasn't as bad as Buu, and Toriyama told us that he was imprisoned by Beerus. So it depends on how you interpret the quote.PolatGuy92 wrote:I've already have seen it on several websites, youtube and social media about this discussion, but is there a source about this? I'm not sure what it really tells us about Beerus's character, though. It really just says that he was strong 75 million years ago, and he's stronger now. I would have assumed that to be the case anyway.

By a different view I mean in a positive way that it shows that Beerus is not some random OP character that comes out of nowhere and claims that he's powerfull god of destruction. It now shows he actually was a normal being that has to achieve that kinda status he is now today. But yeah now we have awesome funny scenario's like what if Majin Buu killed Beerus 75 million years ago before he came a god of destruction.Kamiccolo9 wrote:The Old Kaioshin said the guy who imprisoned him wasn't as bad as Buu, and Toriyama told us that he was imprisoned by Beerus. I just assume that Beerus got stronger when he train with Whis. When Beerus steal up Elder Kaioshin, he was not as powerful as Buu at the time

Millions of millions of years ago Majin Boo was stronger than Beerus. Although, Majin Boo was born with a pre-determined power level and never actually changed, with the exclusion of his absorption's.

Another possibility is that Elder Kaioshin just didn't know how strong Beerus was at the time.
Cool stuff that I upload here because Youtube will copyright claim it: https://vimeo.com/user60967147

Or it could just be that the Elder Kaioshin is talking about bad in a more literal sense? Because at least Beerus could be reasoned with. Pure Boo was just an evil being who was much more like an animal following it's own desires.

Whiss states Beerus hasn't mastered controlling his reactions just yet. He's till in training and has room for improvement.Hitiro wrote:Or it could just be that the Elder Kaioshin is talking about bad in a more literal sense? It's a reference to power.
Beerus is not more bad than Kid Boo, whom has no sense of morals; Beerus on the other-hand can hold back his power.

I believe a more direct translation of the original Japanese text would be something along the lines of "oh he was bad, but not NEARLY as bad as this Majin Boo fellow we have now!" In most official sources this was translated as "strong" instead of "bad", but going by the original translation, it doesn't exactly imply Beerus was ever weaker, it's speaking more of Boo's evilness. Although I'm not opposed to Beerus having gotten stronger over time.

How does Whis stating Beerus hasn't controlled his reactions yet mean that Rou Kaioushin's statement has to be a reference to power? Even though we know Beerus still hasn't mastered being able to move without thinking, nothing is ever even indicated to imply that he's ever been weaker than Ma-jin Buu. For all we know, he's always been as powerful as he was, and just needed a teacher to help him master that strength (like Goku with Uub). In turn, nothing about Rou Kaioushin's statement implicitly indicates strength either. Since he simply refers to the then unnamed enemy as being "not as bad" as Ma-jin Buu, that readily leaves it open that he was just meaning how evil he was..h0kuten wrote:Whiss states Beerus hasn't mastered controlling his reactions just yet. Re: Majin Buu used to be stronger than Beerus?
This is just one of those oddities that pops up due to the way DB is written. Back in the 90s when the Boo arc was running in Jump, Toriyama had Elder Kaioshin mention in passing that the anonymous villain who sealed him in the Z Sword probably wasn't as evil or strong as Boo. Then 17-odd years later, Toriyama helps write BoG, and establishes Beerus as a gazillion times stronger than Boo (though not necessarily all that evil). Then a year or so after that, Toriyama does the Twel-Boo Q&A where he says that Beerus was in fact that one who sealed Elder Kaioshin away, and now Super backs that up. If you want, you put all these things together and end up with the idea that Elder Kaioshin claimed Beerus was probably weaker than Boo, even though Beerus is clearly stronger than Boo in the present. It's fairly easy to rationalize this by saying Beerus was weaker than Boo back when he sealed Elder Kaioshin away and then subsequently grew stronger, but still, keep in mind that this is simply speculation. Toriyama has never said "Beerus used to be weaker than Boo", and odds are he long ago forgot about the throwaway line where Elder Kaioshin says he got sealed away by someone probably weaker than Boo.

Re: Majin Buu used to be stronger than Beerus?
I just think it was a line to do with Boo being more evil. Rou Kaioshin talks Beerus up so much, and seems to be more scared of him than anybody else, yet he hasn't met Beerus or seen him in action much since he sealed him in the Z sword, but he still talks about Beerus like there's nothing in the universe that comes close.
Basically I can't see Rou Kaioshin being so bothered about Beerus, who he hasn't met in 75 million years, if he was weaker than Boo the last time they met since there's a few current warriors who could defeat Boo. I'd at least expect Rou Kaioshin to mention how much stronger Beerus has gotten since he last met him if he was weaker than Boo, but to me it seems like Beerus has always been the most fearsome person around to him.
sorry if I'm struggling to make sense, I'm exhausted.
