"Power levels" from the Daizenshuu

Post by DevilsAlwaysCry » Tue Jun 20, 2006 5:06 pm

I was wondering what "power levels" are listed in the Japanese Daizenshuu books. I saw on Wikipedia that some (up untill the end of the Freeza saga) "power levels" are offically listed in the Daizenshuu. Is that true?

Here is a page from it

It only consists of 2 pages. 1 being for that of the Z era.

And here's the other page.

They're both French, and (there was a thread on this before) are completely accurate translations.

Wow thanks a bunch guys. I had no idea Son Goku's combat power was 150,000,000 as a Super Saiya-jin against Freeza. Good Lord, that is way higher then I heard it was (which was 15,000,000)!

That stems from a mis-translation from the original Japanese Daizenshuu. The powerlevels were listed as 1(some character)5000(some other character). Those characters meant 100 million and 10 thousand respectively. There seems to have been some mistranslation initially (ya can't trust 'the' internet :P)

The original discussion was here.

What company translated and distributed the French version of the Daizenshuu? Maybe Viz can learn a thing or two from their action. :x

As long as Viz translates the names of attacks and characters properly, I am more then fine with that. I don't want to see them edit it like they did the DBZ manga. Atleast put out 2 versions of the same book (and at the same time please) and make one unaltered/uncensored and one censored.

Although I don't trust that they could do it right, it would be cool to see a translated Daizenshuu. I wouldn't know the difference since I can't read japanese anyway.

Are you saying that was a mistranslation? Because 1億5000万 (ichi oku gosen man) does in fact mean "150,000,000". If not, sorry if I misunderstood.

I ment that the powerlevel of '15,000,000' was floating around the internet for some time, and was probably due tto a mistranslation of those characters.

Is there an original scan of the other power page? Or can someone scan it? I want to see what it says for Raditz.

Wow... I never thought Goku and Piccolo were that weak when they fought Raditz. :?

Also... someone care to explain how Goku jumped from 900,000 to 3,000,000 on Namek pre-Super Saiyan?

Well, Goku was 90,000 when he fought Ginyu at first, then the kaio-ken doubled it to 180,000 later on in that fight. 3,000,000 is Goku's strongest kaio-ken power in the last battle. The zenkai power made him stronger after he was healed from the Ginyu-Goku fight, and he was using a much higher level of the kaio-ken.

900,000? I guess you are multiplying 90,000 buy Kaioken x10. I believe the power up was due to his flirt with death when his body was in shreads during the whole Ginyu body switching fight. And why didn't you think Son Goku's and Piccolo's battle powers were so low when they were stated in not only the manga, but the anime too?

But he wasn't even hurt that badly. Vegeta was hurt worse and was stronger to begin with, yet got a smaller increase. :?
