A Question About Imperfect Cell...
What would happen if in the Androids Saga of Dragon Ball Z, Imperfect Cell could only absorb people like how he had done with Android 17 and Android 18 in the canon timeline? Like by opening the very tip of his tail?

This seems like a post that fits more into the what-if thread.
But to answer the question, absorbing people one-by-one with an open tail would be a lot less convenient for Cell. It would take longer and leave him more vulnerable which could have hindered his plans significantly. I imagine Piccolo and the gang would have caught up to Cell before he could absorb enough Earthlings to boost his power anywhere close to how he did in the story. Its a fortunate thing for Cell that Gero didn't give him such an inferior method of absorption.
