Is Post Merus/Yardrat SSJB Gogeta Finally Powerful Enough To Fight Whis/Angels?

Post by theherodjl » Mon Mar 30, 2020 12:42 am

I considered SSJB Gogeta from SDBH but now that another couple arcs have played out in the main story, does a fusion of Goku & Vegeta actually have enough power, speed, and skill to contend in a bout of hand-to-hand combat with Whis or other Angels?

SSB Gogeta from DBH would solo DBS because the scaling is off the charts, to the point where Xeno Goku if we go by the manga & Xenoverse is 5th Dimensional or a lot higher. You can just scale Gogeta from that.

If we are talking Blue from the series, I think it'll take complete mastery over UI or likely something higher to compete with Whis.

Vados has beat Whis in the past, it's unknown if he had UI back then, he probably did. There's levels to UI even if it is perfected. Look at all the Angels with UI, yet GP is still beyond them.

I believe SSB Gogeta(Broly & Moro arc) would fall somewhere in the Middle between GoD & Angel. If he gains access to UI & whatever Vegeta is learning it's possible he can entertain Whis for a while.

What does that even mean? And since when does Xeno Goku appear in Xenoverse?

Ur right about that. He does not appear in Xenoverse... & Look up dimensional tiering. Too much to explain. The Supreme Kai of time has feats that are above Zeno himself. Xeno Goku is stronger than this Kai. Gogeta in SDBH is way beyond Xeno Goku so yeah Gogeta is easily 10th dimensional while Top Characters like Jiren are high 3 dimensional or 4th dimensional at best.

Right now, the angels’ true ability is still a mystery and it doesn’t seem like they would be allowed to fight at full power either. There must be a specific exception to make that happen.

'Dimensional tiering' is patent nonsense.

It sounds like its just another term for "the number of universes/multiverses that a character can bust", another attempt at scaling DB characters to be at "X" tier of power among other fictional characters/franchises.
I have never understood the logic behind personal preference of power levels defining how great or awesome that one franchise's characters are over another's. Ben 10 has the Celestialsapiens which are an entire race of universe-busting beings...that offers absolutely nothing to the story other than to gloat about how powerful it's own characters are. Its a story-killing trope that only serves to start fandom arguments about power levels and it gets boring very quickly.

no because angels are on an entirely different cosmic scale then everyone else. No amount of training is ever going to bridge the gap

The Hakaishin were once touted as being on a level of power that is above mortals, that level has been left in the dust as early as the Zamasu arc(with Vegetto Blue) and Goku & Vegeta have since improved significantly. If we include SDBH, Hearts in his powered up form boasted the capability of defeating Zeno which if true, makes him stronger than Daishinkan as well. It did take Jiren & Hit's help but SSJB Gogeta eventually overcame Hearts and that would mean Gogeta is likely on the Angel-tier in raw power as of SDBH. With another arc to train, don't you think its possible that Gogeta is definitely Angel-tier now?

It's actually a lot worse than that. The kind of thing you're describing at least has some kind of consistent logic to it (the ability to blow up 10 universes at once is more impressive than the ability to blow up 1 universe at a time, etc.)

'Dimensional Tiering', on the other hand, is some nonsense invented by the vsbattles wiki site, where they arbitrarily label characters as being 'X-dimensional', and then claim that a lower dimensional character can never beat or even hurt a higher dimensional one.

Not only is it impossible to really assign these labels, considering that different fictional series treat 'dimensions' and such in many different ways, but even if this kind of thing is stated in-universe, it doesn't mean that the 'higher-dimensional' being automatically wins.

For example, there was an episode of Star Trek where they encountered 2-dimensional beings, and they were pulling the Enterprise into a gravity well that would destroy it. Despite the Enterprise being 3 (or 4) dimensional, depending on how you define it (see why this doesn't make sense?) all of their weapons and technology were useless against the two-dimensional beings, as they had no volume, just length and width, so everything would just pass through them harmlessly. They only managed to escape by figuring out how to communicate with them and get them to willingly release the ship.

So...just more mental gymnastics by fandom to find any one characters's 'true' strength through the latest contrived, overly-analytical method of the day.
Shit, if characters existing in multiple dimensions at once makes them multi-dimensional then technically, every character in fiction & non-fiction is omniversal/omni-dimensional because everyone exists in the omniverse.

Gogeta might be now. SsjB Gogeta in the Broly arc can play with someone approaching Beerus.

Based off Whis's reaction he'd still hold a good edge even over Gogeta.
