Origin of Bardock family picture?

Post by Hero 004 » Sat Aug 25, 2007 1:24 am

I've always liked this picture. Does anyone know it's origin? Is it official art or fan-made? Thanks.

Probably the Daizenshuu or some translation of them. Goku looks weird next to Bardock even though they are father and son. Bardock seems to have more darkness about him than Goku. His look says to me that if he had lived and not died that he would be having major PTSD from all those kill and destroy missions he did for Frieza. Good drawing if it isn't Toriyama I would be shocked.

Yep, that's an official pic from one of the Daizenshuu.

I remember this picture! I really would love for any these to be costumes in a Sparking! Meteor (Well, Bardock has that costume, but, you know...).

Really? I thought it was an edit because Goten looks like Kuririn with hair and a nose.

Oh well learn something new everyday

You could think so, but Krillin doesn't have those eyes. They have no white color and are round.

Plus, Krillin's suit doesn't have a crotch-armor thingie in the front.
Maybe the lilliputs didn't have crotches.

Personally I thought it was a fanart.

Cool picture, but Pan and maybe Goku Jr. should also be in it.

No they shouldn't. They don't exist. Or probably didn't when it was done.

Well, Pan did exist, but that was before Dragon Ball GT, so...

Oh, yeah. But I'll blame it on that there were no armors her size. Sort of.
Were there any smaller armors that the lilliput sizes?

Please refer to him as Mr.Toriyama, or Akira Toriyama.

Also, I don't think Akira Toriyama did that illustration, most likely it was done by the animators.

I think we all can agree that Chou Gohan in his suit from Namek is badass.

I think he did, actually (based on the coloring, among other things). Which is interesting, as I certainly can't think of another color illustration of Barduck by Toriyama.

Anyway, could somebody check who the illustration is credited to, in the Daizenshû?

Am I the only one who ever notices the fact that Raditz is always left out of the Bardock Family things. I don't even think he is mentioned in the Bardock Special. Which is very odd because he is Goku's older brother.

Now when you say it, it's quite odd.

Maybe it's because of that he isn't that popular? Or maybe that he was the only one not to die an honorable death?

- Goku fought for Earth and he died two times because of that.
- Gohan and Goten died on Earth after being released from the insides of Buu after fighting him.
- Bardock died fighting Freeza and his men.
- Raditz died after trying to kill his own brother.
