That Android 18 was wished into a human by the dragon, rather than just removing her bomb.

That the reason Krillin didn't have hair was because it got burned off.

That Goku was 5 in Dragonball due to FUNI's dub errors during the DBZ flashbacks.

I don't think either of the ones that I can recall are particularly prevalent, and the latter one I didn't really fully believe, but it still comes to mind.

1) When much further in the series was described to me by a friend, he seemed to suggest (or I misunderstood somehow) that Majin Boo was yet another creation of Dr. Gero's, just like the Androids (which had just started to be a thing on TV here at the time I believe) and Cell. So for a short while there, I was under the impression that the entire last half of the series was based around Gero's attempts at revenge.

2) Another friend was convinced that the 'eerie shadow' Piccolo could see around the corner in Gingertown (something that at the time I think we'd only seen in previews on TV here) was Cooler. I wasn't entirely convinced of this since I was pretty sure Cooler was in the movies only, but the shadow (especially around the head) looked just vaguely enough like Cooler's transformed form that I couldn't really completely refute his claims either.

AF was the main one I can think of.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I answered this question years ago in a simmilar thread, and my answer hasn't changed. So, while I don't mean to repeat myself...I guess I'm gonna repeat myself. *shrug*
TheBlackPaladin wrote:...Looking back on it, the experience that this rumor put me and my friends through is pretty funny. There was a rumor that spread like wildfire around my school back in 6th grade that, in the uncut version of DBZ (which most of us never stayed up to 12:30 to watch), there was a scene cut from the broadcast version where one, how do I put this delicately...sees Vegeta and Bulma...make Trunks. In graphic detail.

I mean...please bare in mind, we were all 10-11 years old when this happened. We were curious, the internet wasn't quite as informed about DBZ as it is now, and our ability to differentiate truth from rumor wasn't nearly as cultivated as it would eventually become. Having said that...yeah, me and my friends hunted for that scene online for weeks, and all we ever found was fan art. Disturbing, disturbing fan art that was never meant to be seen by the weak of heart [2015 update: Or for that matter, anyone]. That and our computers got a ton of viruses, which in turn necessitated an unbelievably awkward talk with our parents explaining what we were trying to find, which led them to think of DBZ some time afterwords as "that cartoon porno show," and...ugh...

Anyway, that scene doesn't exist. Just so 'ya know.
Man, I was a gullible 11-year-old, looking back on it.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Considering how much fanservice there is in anime nowadays, the fact that DBZ never showed any type of sex scene or on-screen kiss is surprising.

Dragon Ball GT was going to be a dark and gritty sequel with blood, gore and sex. I remember hearing rumors that it would be on Adult Swim back in 2001 because it would be too hardcore on Toonami. Other GT rumors I remember hearing:

- Pan and Trunks have sex
- Broly escape out of Hell and becomes a SSj4
- Cell and Freeza become good guys after Goku defeats them
- Vegeta dies in the Bebi saga
- The Shadow Dragons are the ones who erase the memories of Majin Buu
- Bebi was a robot version of Kid Buu

I was 10 and was new to the franchise at the time before I dig more into the franchise. GT was not out for another two years old.

I thought in GT the entire cast would go out into space on the db hunt and they'd travel around in a huge ship that rivaled Freeza's ship in size. >_>

I'm still disappointed they didn't take Vegeta with them on their space!db hunt. He spent the first 30 years of his life traveling around outer space you'd think he'd be one of the first people they'd recruit. >_<

I remember due to those old Bandai toys having gold hair as variants for the Super Saiyan figures, I thought gold hair was some sort of new power up in the anime.

I thought "Gold Super Saiyan" was above regular Super Saiyan. Man, maybe they should have done that in the series.

isn't this from the speculation of the GT perfect files author.
The Golden Great Ape transformation created in Dragon Ball GT is similar to the Original Super Saiyan's appearance in Vegeta's flashback. This and other resemblances led authors of the first Dragon Ball GT Perfect Files volume to speculate that the Original Super Saiyan utilized the Golden Great Ape form, saying: "Incidentally, the Super Saiyan legend has a passage saying that they “love destruction and slaughter”, but in actuality everyone retains their reason. However, if you’ll remember, there was a form where even Goku became extremely violent!! That’s right, when he transformed into a Golden Oozaru!! Surely this brutality, destructive power, and large scale are a sign of the legend that tells that they will “love destruction and slaughter”!! One can think of the Golden Oozaru form (which includes Oozaru Baby too!!) as perhaps fit to be called the true Super Saiyan!!"
The question has been asked by you 10000000000 times and we have become very efficient.
I don't care about non canon stuffs like game, guide book, movie, etc
Spare the trouble because GT is CANON
Be quick and be done with it

Seripa was Goku's mother. I was dead certain this was the case after watching the Bardock TV special as a kid for some reason.

1. GT wasn't made by Toriyama but rather by an Argentinian artist.
2. Cell and Freeza were going to fuse in GT.
3. BIO-BEBI MOVIE
4. Goku was made a child again to prevent him to develop his heart issues even more.
5. "Trunks can't be Vegeta's son. He hates everyone and Bulma has a thing for Yamtcha"

I also used to think GT stood for "Goku's Tiny".

That Gohan was supposed to be the main character, and Toriyama only changed his mind because of backlash from crazy Goku fanboys.

I've got to credit this site for telling me otherwise.
I could have gotten into anything...and yet I chose the story aimed at young Japanese boys about martial arts, and later about super-powerful aliens punching each other really hard.

Come on xD

I see the SSJ 4 as a Primal SSJ, Something that dates way before Broly and therefore, Broly can still be a SSJ but just not Primal.

SSJ4 wasn't supposed to be even called Super Saiyan right? Also the biggest rumors I remember were AF, Hoshi (Heroes) being a new series, GT part 2 (Continuation of GT with SSJ5). The funny thing is GT part 2 was rumored to start off with Goku training in the dragon realm with Shenron, and it was even seen in Toyble's AF I think. I believed all of these as a kid, as when I started watching DBZ I think it was between 2002-2003 and it was pretty much already aired and over Dubbed so naturally I wanted more. I got that which came in the form as GT and even though I liked it, It wasn't quite the same. After that I still wanted more and then when rumors like GT part 2 and Hoshi came along, I believed them. I think everybody wanted to believe it, even though we all knew better.
