Year of Monkey (Saiyan)

Given Chinese New Year is indeed the year of the monkey, and because this thread is DB related, why give this year a Saiyan-themed. Also the lucky number is seven which in turn is the number of Dragon Balls and the number of this Universe is set in. For me, I was born in the Rooster year.

It should be noted Freeza and his men called the Saiyans "monkeys".

Well, I'm a Saiyan. Cuz I was born the Monkey Year

In conjunction to Monkey Year of the Chinese New Year celebration, I watched The Monkey King 2, sequel to the 2014 hit. Yet, another adaptation of Journey to The West

Any seasoned DragonBall fan knows how DragonBall was loose-adaptation of China's epic Journey to The West tale. In short, Goku = Sun Wukong Oolong = Zhu Bajie Needless to say, the film was an epic movie-viewing experience. It hits all cords be it emotion, drama, humor, action. You name it. Its there

Felt great to watch Wukong in all his glory & at many times, I literally felt Goku-ism in front my eyes. As he throws tantrums. Quarelling his his friends. Or being hyper active, yet powerhouse of the team. So much Goku-feel

Feeling humbled for bring able to read, watch & experience the wonderful DragonBall thanks to Toriyama who gave us the marvelous tale, loosely tied to JTTW

Woo, fellow rabbit here as well. When I was younger I remember being well jealous of my friends who were born just a few months later than me because they got the awesome title of being born under year of the dragon.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my status in the Dragon Ball universe. Afterall, I created Super Dragon Balls. (Assuming Zarama is a dragon, and not just a god of dragons.)

This year of the monkey also happens to be the anniversary of GT (featuring the monkey themed SS4) along with DBZ's English premiere in the US. Coincidences all around!
