Dragonbox singles are not Dragonbox. They don't have the extras/gizmos that the Dragonboxes came with.
Taku128 wrote:Footage: Dragon Box masters, in the intended aspect ratio of course.
Audio: Japanese mono, English 5.1 with Japanese Music and redone audio for the recap and next episode segments, perferably whoever did them for the Dragon Ball dub, and the Spanish Dub in either Stereo or Mono, whichever it appeared in on the UUEs.
Subtitles: Steve Simmons' Japanese Translation, Subtitles for the dub, and mabey Spanish subtitles, but it's suposedly a great dub so the dialouge is probably pretty close to the Japanese script.
Special Features: Commentary on select episodes by the English Cast and Crew, History of DBZ in English feature talking about the history of the show in America, covering changes in casting, censorship, changing the music, and other things, and any trailers used to promote the Box set.
Episodes per Disc: 5-6.
Price: 40-50 USD.
I'd say this is pretty much what I want. Though commentaries would be unneccessary to me and I'd prefer the Dragonbox extras translated.

Yes, you miss out on the extras discs, the figurines, Scouters and Dragon Radar remote controls...but it's the exact same discs for the episodes, aside from the menus. That was my point. Given FUNi's superb choice of extras, I'd happily go for barebones discs with great quality like the DragonBox singles.

I buy DVD's mainly for the core presentation myself, anything extra is...well, an extra :P

The perfect set to me is all the episodes, in good quality for a reasonable price. I don't really care about extras and other stuff.

I don't really want some of the stuff I put either, but it was mainly to be realistic and appeal to the main audience, dub fans. While I'd love to see a ton of features about the Japanese version, its not realistic coming from FUNi. I did cut the brodcast audio the way episodes aired on Cartoon Network and the way episodes appeared on Uncut DVDs for later seasons to make room for the Spanish dub, but I tried to make it as realisticas I could while keeping the main things I'd like to see. And yes, I do realise this is the Dream Box set topic and that I don't have to be realistic about it.

Let's just say that I am not a very picky guy. All I want is Mexican Spanish langauge track and Spanish subs for the Japanese language track. That's it. No más o menos. Keep the Spanish and I will be a simpático hombre...hasta ellos hagan algo mala cosa.

Meh, imo the Radar is the worst one. The Scouters, Goku, and the Tenkaichi Budokai diorama are the best.

But this is only after seeing pictures...

(If anyone can please give me all of the Dragonboxes for free, that would be the pwnage)

Maybe so, but the idea of a Dragon Radar that does more than the one I have (it lights up when you push the button) and does more than just sits up on my shelf of "stuff I've collected" would be really cool.

1) ALL Video from the Dragon Box. (i.e. endings that have all the info for that individual episode and next episode previews etc.)
2) Audio from the Dragon Box, but improved to stereo.
3) The first boxset should have episodes 1~35. (The Saiyan saga)
4) No more than six episodes on each DVD.
5) English subtitles.
6) No more than US$50.00
