Character # 20 : Vegetto
Image
Like : One of my favourite characters. I liked how Vegeta's strategic mind and Goku's combat intelligence were mixed in one guy.

Dislike : He wasted the possibility to defeat Majin Buu because he was playing around with him.

I think I'll go with someone a little more obscure and forgotten for my second entry.

Character #21 - Erasa
Image
Like: It was kind of nice for Gohan to get some 'normal world' friends, not to mention friends that weren't his father's friends first. She's also way cute, I mean, look at her. Being voiced by Laura Bailey in the dub automatically adds like 50 cutness points too.
Dislike: That she never really got to do anything and faded away. Oh, so all of Goku's friends, even the non fighting ones, can still stick around, but the only one that we see stay around with Gohan is the one who ends up being his wife? What the hell.

Character #22 - Farmer with Shotgun

Likes: The first brave soul to fight against Raditz.
Dislikes: Did not get to use his true power.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Character #23 - Cooler
Image
Like: His badass design, chilling voice and entertaining personality. Cooler instantly became one of my favoraite Dragon Ball characters and fit very well into the role of Frieza's older brother, showing much more experience and wisdom when it comes to dealing with a threat, and holding nothing back when he meets his foe in battle. Plus, he doesn't kill his own men for no reason.

Dislike: Being just a movie Villain, there was really no tim to add more depth to him ot flesh out his backstory. It was especially dissapointing that we never see him interact with Frieza or King Cold, and to top it all off: COOLER'S SECOND MOVIE SUCKED HARD!
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

Character #24 - Evil Boo (also known as "Super Buu")
Image

Like: His surprisingly pragmatic and cunning mind combined with the personality of a short-tempered thug with a sick sense of humor. His battles are a joy (even though, or perhaps because of, the fact that he's usually on the losing end of them before he strategizes) and I love the scenes where he's standing on the Lookout and everyone's trying to walk on eggshells around him. Also he has a pretty cool design and great powers. Finally, I very much enjoyed his stoic demeanor for the first third of his screen time. Unlike Cell or Freeza, who delighted in the slaughter of innocents, Buu simply saw them as so beneath his notice that he only bothered killing off the remaining few billion humans when it was a choice between that and waiting a few minutes. He'll kill whoever he wants to, and he certainly enjoys it on some level, but he simply cannot bring himself to care all that much, in the same way you or I wouldn't care about swatting a fly (his stoic demeanor also led to some good comedy with Gotenks, e.g. "May I attack now?" and reading a magazine while Gotenks boasts). When you actually prove yourself as a threat, though, then you will be made to suffer, so he can lord his superiority over a worthy victim.

Dislike: everything involving him after Vegetto is formed; he's suddenly turned into an idiot and gets a pretty lackluster final send-off for what had been a pretty great villain up to this point. Also kinda annoyed he doesn't really have as much "EU" material (e.g. extra story bits in the anime, games, etc.) as Freeza and Cell, though that's probably for the best.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Character#25 - Piccolo Daimao
Image

Like: He is evil to the core of his heart. Only Freeza tops him as a villain IMO. The only character in DB as of yet to kill Shenlong. Voiced by one of my favorite VA the late great Takeshi Aono.

Dislike: Why the hell didn't he dodge Gokuu's final attack. Besides that i don't dislike anything about the character.

Character #XXVI:

Broly

Image

Like: He has no ordinary Saiyajin Design as well as a unique form. Also he is shown as the unstoppable force in a stylish way, though I think as long as he is not voicedby Vic Mignogna he loses a lot of what i think of as cool.
Dislike: He only has a slight bit of story. There could have been so much more.

Character #27 - Raditz:
Image

Like: His introduction where he, after serving as the viewpoint character (nice sense of menace and mysteriousness here), quickly establishes himself as a threat by no-selling Piccolo's attack and one-shotting Goku, and lays out the plot of the arc. His fight with Piccolo, Gohan, and Goku and the teamwork involved in it. His cold blooded bit of cunning when Goku has his tail. His motives having more to them than "he's evil" (he thinks that Goku's softness is a disgrace to their culture, but actually tries to convert his brother rather than just kill him... at least as first). His sense of camaraderie with his fellow saiyans (trying to recruit Goku and Gohan, his expectation that his partners would him, and the fact that Nappa was actually going to do it; this also effectively serves as a contrast to make Vegeta look like more of a monster). The fact that, despite being Goku's brother, he's not talked about after his death, signifying that Goku and Gohan never saw him as a true relative with the only thing that tied them being blood.

Dislike: the retcon that he could have detached his tail the entire time; it just ruins the great scene that came before. Also his design is ridiculous.

Character #28 Cell:

Image

Like: I immensely enjoy how Cell evolves as he absorbs the androids and how his personality drastically shifts with the stronger he gets. He starts off completely single-minded in the pursuit of his goals and is very cautious, sneaky, cunning, and calculating in achieving his main goal of perfection. Then after absorbing 17, Cell becomes brash and impulsive in his actions, relying less on strategy and more on brute force, often becoming clouded and losing his ability to think rationally when things don't go his way. Then when he becomes Perfect Cell, he becomes so vain that he organises a tournament just to show off his power. Yet all the while, he remains relatively cool, calm and collected while having an deranged lust for battle. He essentially became an evil version of Goku.

Dislike: He ultimately just became another generic doomsday villain when he becomes Perfect Cell, and even more so as Super Perfect Cell. Cell really lacked vision and any kind of development after achieving perfection.

Is there a limit to how often you want people (as in the same people) to contribute to this? Just curious, as for now I'm keeping it to just one character a day from my end. Speaking of...

Character #29: Pan
Image
Like: She's got a spunky personality that fits an offspring of Videl's IMO, especially one that was also a 'grandpa's girl' only to be 'abandoned' by said grandpa for a long time, from her POV anyway. It's also nice to get a girl main fighting character for a change. And though this is using a picture of her older self from GT, Pan in Super is freakin' adorable.
Dislike: ...Just a pity that she doesn't actually get to fight as much as you'd think, much less getting any notable ones, much less victories. Heck, her biggest moment is losing control of her emotions and destroying one of the robots on M2. Also, while I like her personality honestly, I can see how she grates on others too.

You can post as many times as you want in this thread. It's not a "one-and-done" deal after you post one character.

That being said, I would like as many people to post in here as possible. Your once-a-day method is good, as it gives other members a chance to reply in here. Plus, double-posting is against the forum rules, so that forcibly makes other members reply anyway.

Character #30:

Son Goten

Image

Like:
Goten serves as a good Kid Goku 2.0, from his innocence to his appearance. For those Dragon Ball fans who miss Kid Goku being in the series, Goten serves as a good alternative, even if he's not exactly like his father was as a kid (frankly, he's a bit smarter than Kid Goku ever was). Otherwise, he's a cute little squirt who provides a lot of good humor for the series along with his lifetime friend, Trunks.

Dislike:
Never cared for him in GT, especially his ridiculous hairstyle in that series. Also, I wish he would've gotten a bigger role in the TV anime like Gohan did. Thankfully, Movies 10 and 11 do give him a leading role along with Trunks, but I would've liked to have seen more.

EDIT: Here's the list of characters posted so far:

Cool, thanks for answering that for me. I figured one a day was a good way to space things out for myself, but I also didn't want to get like a week into it and find out you'd actually not meant for any one person to have that many entrants or anything. It's a fun thread idea, I certainly didn't wanna spoil it by accident.

My bad. If it makes you feel better, Kuririn was already taken by the time I even did my first entry, and that's just wrong. :P I'm just hoping the next one I have in mind isn't posted before I post him/her tomorrow.

Character #31: Janemba

Image

Like - His design; so simple and so majestic at the same time, the colors match and makes him badass. I love all his techniques, so unique in all Dragon Ball franchise. He's the only to actually mean a real threat if Toei or Toriyama knew how to handle him. He just need to be given a proper personality and booya! The perfect villlain has been created!

Dislike - He is non-canon.

Character #32:
Tenkaichi Budokai Announcer
Image

Likes: His dedication to his job, remember the 23rd TB. One of the few characters not suffering from the Sunnydale Syndrome. His interaction with the main cast at the 25th TB puts a smile on my face. Poor guy, watching Mr.Satan tier fight's must have been boring after a Piccolo vs Goku final.

Dislikes: There's not much to dislike about the guy. I guess his role being dependent of the Tenkaichi Budokai, I think he wasn't appeared outside of it. Thirteen year old mustache, yup.

Character #33:
Future Gohan
Image

Likes: This is a whole new Gohan who had to nut up and try to save a dying world without his father. He put aside his future in order to try and save the world, but ended up sacrificing himself for the real saviour of the future. This Gohan is a window into what Gohan would be like, if he the world was placed on his shoulders, without anyone else to help him. He's strong, but couldn't effectively train himself. Showing us that great potential is nothing without proper guidance. He also mentored and was like a foster older brother to Trunks, despite him personally not really being a fighter at heart. He also has one of the better looking SSJ dews I like.

Dislikes: He kinda goes out like a brash idiot. Instead of working with Trunks to better prepare themselves for the cyborgs, he throws his life away and essentially leaves Trunks alone. Not really a great plan. Would have probably been better if he had to fight to buy Trunks time to leave.

Dislike; Goes out in a dumb way; The filler with Bulma went on for way to long and was dumb.

Character #35
Mr. Popo

Image

Like: Protector of Kami's Lookout and looks after Kami very well. Trained Goku and the other Z Fighters to become even stronger. Helps out the Z Warriors when they are in trouble.
Dislike: Doesn't really get used much in Super and Buu Saga. Design is also a little racist, and looks kind of creepy...Nothing much else to complain about really.
