Speaking of health I wonder if Toriyama is still a smoker? Remember reading an interview that Kanzzy translated and he said smoked like three packs a day! I certainly hope that isn't the case now.

I don't see his age... because he's immortal in my eyes.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Happy Birthday, Akira Toriyama!!

One of the two Gods I believe. The other is Goku of course.
A world without Dragon Ball is just meh.

I do remember a reliable comment a while back suggesting that his health wasn't the best. Luckily, the Japanese are healthy, youthful, immortal superhumans, so he's probably got at least three or four hundred years left even if he is smoking 3 packs a day.
Retired.

This. Too often we forget just how long in the teeth some of our finest artists tend to be, & how fortunate we are that so many legends are still around.

He shaped up so many aspects of my childhood as well as my friends. Love his art style, character design, and his story telling because it adds up to a very nice mix of comedy and action.

Glad to see Toriyama-sensei is still kicking it old-school. His devotion to supporting and creating DB media long after the original run ended is something that's sadly absent in most of my favourite cartoonists, though Bone: Coda by Jeff Smith shows that there's maybe hope for Bone yet.
"All of you. All of you must have KILL all the SEASONS!" -Dough (Tenshinhan), Speedy Dub of Movie 9.

"My opinion of Norihito's Sumitomo's new score is... well, very mixed. The stuff that's good is pretty darn good, but the stuff that's bad makes elevator music sound like Jerry freaking Goldsmith." -Kenisu
