I hope the preview image for 98 is some polished Shimanuki.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
No love for episodes 4, 14, 75 or 79? The storyboard for episode 75 in particular was one of the best the show has produced so far.emperior wrote:My favorite episodes in terms of animation and art are: 13, 16, 38, 56, 66, 86, 94, 95
47 and 57 would also be in the list but those had way too many rough drawings unfortunately. 47 was very good apart from modern day scenes, which were rough.
If I have to choose just one episode, it would be episode 66

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
Oh right, those episodes really fit in. Though 14 isn't exactly my piece of cake; don't get me wrong, the animation was very good but the art wasn't exactly on par and the battle damage looked like shit, as it does most of the times in Super, unfortunately. The bad battle damage also kind of ruins episode 63 for me. The same bad battle damage was present in episode 27 too. It's unnerving considering how easy it is to draw some good battle damage: sometimes it really feels like kids are doing it. I seriously hope they will improve it.Lord Beerus wrote:No love for episodes 4, 14, 75 or 79? Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
My favorite episodes in terms of both art and animation are eps 13,39,50,57,61,65,66,90,95. But based on pure art quality, i choose eps 16 and 75 as the bests so far.MisteryOne wrote: This has made me curious about something. To anyone interested in answer this...What is your favourite episode so far in terms of just animation or art? Ignore the plot and every other element, just think about pure animation or specific shots.

BOG:(Animation) 2

(Gorgeous artwork) 4,(Art and animation)11,(Namely polished art with brief moment of good animation)13

(F)(Great animation though sloppy art) 14

(Even though I don't particularly like 11 and 13, I think they definitely deserved a place when talking about the best animated of the arc)
ROF: (Art, animation)16,(Animation and gorgeous art)(F)18
(first half, great animation with rough art, the second half was terrible)26

(Had a couple of decent scenes) 27

U6:32(Art,animation)

36(Art), 37(Second half only, art and animation), 38(Art and animation)(F), 39(decent repeat frames)

Future Trunks: 47(art,animation)

48(couple of decently animated scenes)

50(Art,Animation), 54(Art),56(art,animation)
57(art,animation)

63(Art,animation)

65(animation,effects)

66(Art and animation)(F)

Sec Fill arc:75(F)

72(animation)
Tournament arc up to episode 96: 79(Art and animation)

80(Art and animation)

84(animation)

86(F)(Art, Animation)

95(Art and Animation)

So far this arc is consistently polished but it also means that only the truly awesome episodes have left an impression on me.

If those shots were originally from Kitano, they must have been corrected to hell and back, because his artsyle has never looked that good in Super previously. Unless he's pulled a cat out of the bag, and with the extra time he's gotten, was able to produce very polished art.Nasryyy wrote:This shot is so weird looking, i hate it

Hit has the Kitano mouth but is heavily corrected. That or someone just draws mouths the same way.Lord Beerus wrote:If those shots were originally from Kitano, they must have been corrected to hell and back, because his artsyle has never looked that good in Super previously. I don't know why, but the angular way Hit is drawn looks so distinct and familiar, but for the life of me, I can't put a name to who it is.Mazingerdestro wrote:Hit has the Kitano mouth but is heavily corrected. Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 93
One Piece is going to get 10 "Big Projects" for 20th anniversary of the manga. Keep an eye out for this, because if some of "projects" are anime related, this won't spell well for Super's chances of expanding the pool of animator for them to choose from. Because we all know One Piece, along with PreCure (and most recently Tiger Mask W), regularly get the pick of litter when it comes to animators under Toei's umbrella.
