Placement is always more important than raw data.

The placement is arguably the most important. It allows for a bit of control such as if a holiday is occurring most of the shows with drop or spike while keep the week to week rankings similar.

Should we expect a decrease in ratings due to it being an episode about Universe 2 or does Japan like them like Universe 6?

I wonder what the general consensus of Brianne is in Japan.

Can't say I didn't see a rating like that coming

Given Japan gets what Ribrianne is a parody of unlike ignorant westerners, I doubt she is the reason.

To be fair the drop is really not that big. The episode still did very well.
Gowasu's number 1 fan.

It was expected, all of Brianne vs Androids episodes have done below the 5.0.

if they wanted a good Sailor Moon parody, Toei shouldve gone full Kill la Kill with the Maidens.

Pretty sure you'd never see quite that much skin in a Sunday morning cartoon.

Fairy Tail anime also aired at 9am Japan time and got away with scenes like Naked Lucy, Rogue groping Yukino, etc.

But not like I like excessive amounts of fanservice but I feel it was a mistake making Brianne and the rest of Maidens "ugly", shouldve gotten more scenes similar to 17 blasting them when they were transforming, the Maidens lacked a "Mako" type of character imo .

The joke behind Ribrianne is very Toriyama-esque however, while I can't remember the last time we've had really salacious fan-service in DB. When it comes to female characters, they seem to prefer 'cute' over 'sexy'.

17 and 18 could also be why ratings drop when the magical girls appear.

Yurin? then there was Bulma having large breasts in the first Arcs of DBS/Jaco making fun of her breasts.

All of the episodes featuring the Androids have caused the ratings to drop so far, a this point its clear that 17 will never click with the japanese fans, business wise his return has been a bust.

If the upcoming episode also does below 5.0, either the U6 Namekians or Piccolo will be scapegoats.

.
The story/joke around them was based on attractiveness, but the presentation on screen was rather tame compared to what we see in Kill la Kill. I mean, that series really pushed the envelope.

The ranking itself is still good--7th out of 10--so I wouldn't worry.

If it was 9th or 10th then I could see it.

More he is asking to get the Launch treatment along with 18.

Its like 18 became old news the moment the Saiyan Girls got introduced to the series.

I don't think 18's in danger of getting usurped by Caulifla or Kale. Different personality, different age group.

17 though...I think he's only favored this arc because the director came out and said he's a big fan of 17. We get another new director things will change.

We can absoluetly tell that the director is a big 17 fanboy.

Because of the directors treatment of characters like Tien and Piccolo, I hope they get replaced.
