Am I nuts or does that seem like a long wait?

I honestly have no idea what is taking them so long to put these out (Especially since Chris Sabat appears to be the only one trying to correct voice problems). I mean, maybe, just maybe they are listening to the fans and going back and trying to actually fix things up, I mean Season Three was by far the best of the season sets so far. The "remastering" for the most part looked good, except for a few VERY noticeable instances, and the audio levels were much better. So maybe they are listening to the fans, but probably not.

. . . February?! Are you effin' kidding me? That's even longer a wait than the four months we had for Freeza!

Hmm... I'm noticing a trend...

Release stuff slowly, then when you can *almost* complete the entire series, they release a new version... when the new widescreen is almost at completion, then they'll release the Blue Box Sets which are on DVD and Blu-Ray (both in the same box mind you) ... then when they get almost to the end of THAT release, they release the Blu-Ray box set of their own footage AND Dragon Box footage for the final super ultra-flashing hyper edition box set... (for consistency's sake of course!)

The Remastering process is already done. They put the whole series through the machine already, as stated all the way in the first Set. All they're doing is putting that cheap little box together. It's a marketing strategy of some sort. Kind of like how they released the individual DVDs God knows how long apart. They came out with Cell Games DVDs while showing Kid Buu on TV.

I've gotta admit the delays mystify me as well. It's not like FUNimation is doing deluxe packages, or extras or anything nuts. I honestly can't think of anything that would justify any delays O_o;

Is that one year since Season 1's release?

It's over a year. Season 1 came out on February 6.

Wow, over a year and only 4 boxsets will be released. I'm not buying this but everybody here is right, there shouldn't be any reason for these delays and long wait times if they have already redubbed and remastered everything.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

Are the season sets still in "widescreen" or have they changed it?

Considering that they already unmastered the whole series, it'll probably be in Widescreen.

Really, I doubt there's any need to have any more than two months between each set release at the price they're at. Heck, three would be pushing it. Then again FUNi's release schedule was always a source of my fury.

Hey, we got over one hundred episodes in less than a year. That's really fast in my opinion, if you compare it to other DVD-releases of current shows: usually around 26 episodes per year. (Fine, that was purely based on Viz's release of Bleach, but I think it seems like other shows are released at the same speed, too.)

THis is not a current show, atleast not as far as logic would go (but it's also Dragonball so no logic applies here).

Streching is fine though. These are episodes that people already have on DVD< and while the first set sells a lot of copies very quickly, each set thereafter might have more time between releases because people have to get their $50 together or whatever and thus will need more time, or somehting.

Plus if it were all done in a year people might feel crowded or?

Ah chalk it all up to bullshit.

Indeed, $50 is a lot of money for those 9 year olds (who are born every day) that Funi are marketing the sets towards. :P

$50? Who's paying $50 for these? You can do an easy $30-35 at FYE or Walmart, and I've seen as low as $20 on Ebay. Anyone who pays the SRP on these doesn't know how to shop around at all.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Well, those in Australia have to pay $60 for their R4 sets. :shock: ;;
