For some reason, most modern fighting games skimp on stages pretty hard. It gets redundant when you play many rounds in a row.
I'm down for DLC stages by far.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

We need the Room of Space and Time, Kami's Lookout, Beerus' Planet, and the Red Ribbon Army Base. Maybe King Kai's planet?
I kinda wish we got Raditz and Dabra on the main roster. It would be cool to see them on the villain team in the story. I get why Black was not in the story since I doubt #21 could wish back someone who was erased by Zeno. Hit could have still fit if they said the waves drag him out of his Universe and he work on Goku's side in the story mode.

I would have worked Black into the storyline as a result of the rip he made during his fight with Vegeta and the clones that came out:
Black hasn't happened yet. The story presents itself as occurring in AGE 779, between the Hakaishin Invitational with U6 and the Future Trunks Arc. There are a handful of references to the tournament, but absolutely zero statements about having seen Future Trunks lately when encountering his clones and a noticeable lack of commentary about encountering Black despite having literal evil Goku clones walking around.
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.
My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)

I meant for a story mode side story involving the characters like Hit, Goku Black, Future Trunks, Beerus, and perhaps the DLC characters.
I would like to see more stages in the future, there are too few at the moment.

I actually can't wait until they expand on things in this game. It's way too much fun. I'd like the stage where Freeza came back as Golden Freeza to fight, and obviously SSB Vegetto, new Blue Vegeta, UI Goku, Jiren, Hakaishin Toppo, etc.
I do hope the DLC character packs come with more than just the characters. It'd be good to get some new stages to go with, they'll probably get new themes as well.
Also (and this is a big ask) it would be great to get some story mode content to go with them. The best part about story mode stuff were the interactions and the link events, it would be great to get some material for the new characters.

I don't remember seeing an AGE stated anywhere, but that's really neat if it's the case.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
Asymmetry and body size.
...the reasons why these characters won't make it into a 2D fighter like this, in case you wonder.
There are 2D fighters that have characters without perfect symmetry. You would just end up with the wrong missing arm on one side. Like in Injustice 2 Hellboy's big arm changes.
You are right. Although it always looks a bit weird. But for Future Gohan, we have more against him: 2 Gohans already, lack of any moves that would differentiate him from them, and he was also a really minor character. Compare that to Cooler who was the main villain in two movies, and appeared in Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans and even GT. Or Bardock, who is one of the most popular DB characters both in Japan and internationally, was the main character of two specials, and appeared both in the manga and the anime.
One more word on Hildegarn, before anyone brings that up. Yes, Marvel and other 2D fighters had giant characters like that, but they usually worked as bosses, and that's the only way I can see him or Great Ape Baby work here. Tatsunoko vs Capcom had Gold Lightan, and Final Bout had Great Ape Baby as playable characters but for the cost of making them about 4 times smaller then they were originally are.
In case you missed them:

I don't know how viable a character like that would be gameplay-wise... Especially for the competitive crowd who will possibly keep this game alive for many years to come and buy the DLCs.
Speaking of Story Mode. I thught about that and now I'm a little surprised that there no arc with bad ending. For example, where Evil Android 21 eats everyone including Beerus. As I stated before, each version of Android 21 is a separate characters with small differences in the moves. I really want to try out Evil Android 21 somehow.
Btw, GGXrd Rev. had some Story updates. For instances, the game had only half of Story Mode on release, second half was added after. And after that was added 3 after Story shorts (After Story A, B and C).
DBFZ still is unfinished. It will have not only DLC, but some free content too. I believe the game will have at least 2 free additional stages.

The dataminer guy who got us all the non-fake info so far, found a D storyline, named as "Secret Story Arc" or something like that. He said he don't know if it's already existing in the game, or it's a scrapped idea, or something that will be added later.
So there's hope, at least.
After playing this game for a week, I can say that visually and gameplay-wise this is the best Dragon Ball game ever made. Too bad the soundtrack is rather average, the lobby system is cumbersome and unnecessary, online features are in a rather bad state and the Story Mode is absolute garbage.
"I think it's only fair that I should warn you guys. You dont stand a chance against me.", Future Trunks
Something I hope gets added to an upcoming patch: At the loading screen where we see the headshots of all the fighters, If you press L1, your second picked fighter goes out first, and with L2 your third picked fighter goes out first. cvs2 does that.

Knowing the enemy is a step up for online play.
From what I've seen, most teams have Super Saiyan Vegeta and/or Super Saiyan Goku. Strangely enough, one of most played characters in the Beta, Majin Buu, is played the least.
How you even supposed to do arcade mode? Snake Path: You get one easy fight, one slightly harder fight, and then a fight where I can't even tell what's happening because there's supers and supports spammed literally every second of the fight?
