As I said in my first post, the problem with Colleen's Goku isn't that it's bad, it's just placeholder. I feel the same way about her 18. Even though I'm not a fan of McCoy as 18, I wouldn't say I'd prefer Colleen's version, because there was nothing remarkable about it. Considering Sabat wanted McCoy back for Kai and later got her back for the new stuff, it's easy to say that voice is the definitive English 18 whether you like it or not.

Kid Gohan's definitive English actress is Colleen Clinkenbeard. She's got the right balance of precocious and serious and can scream like nobody's business. It never sounds forced, which is the problem with the old Gohan. Kid Goku's definitive voice is Nadolny by default because she's the only one who's played him in the two series where he had a major presence, while Colleen is limited to playing him in games and flashbacks. But since Nadolny's gone, we have what is essentially kid Gohan playing kid Goku out of tradition, which I don't get. It's not like the dub has ever followed the Japanese rule of all the Son lads being played by the same person, why do Goku and Gohan need to be? It was probably for budget reasons at first, but they've got a dozen actors now. As I said, if DB and/or GT ever got a redub, they should use it as an excuse to recast kid Goku. Colleen plays Luffy, she'd got enough idiot shonen boys under her belt.

In a somewhat ideal world (as far as the FUNimation dub is concerned), I’d say that Colleen Clinkenbeard should be Kid Gohan while Stephanie Nadolny would be Kid Goku. Mind you, with the exception of Masako Nozawa, I’m generally not a fan of the practice of getting women to voice male characters, but I realize that it’s the easiest option, so nothing will ever be done to the contrary.

Speaking of place holders, I noticed Sabat voices King Cold in the Broly Trailer 2. Who do you think they will cast for the actual dubbing of the film? Brad Jackson (Z King Cold) or Jason Douglas (Kai King Cold). I could see them going back to Brad Jackson only because Beerus is in this movie and Jason Douglas' King Cold sounds very close to his Beerus.

Nadolny's Gohan only sounded forced early on, at least to me, and I loved her version of Super Saiyan 2 Gohan. Colleen Super Saiyan 2's Gohan is too meek, imo and her Gohan's scream.....yeah, never felt it.

And placeholder or not, her Goku is horrible and 18 wasn't something to write home about either. Goku had a placeholder voice for the Funi dub of Movie 2, the Sleeping Princess, and she sounded better than Colleen's Goku. Overall, all her Dragon Ball's voices outside of Future Mai have been her weakest vocal performances.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

I agree with this sentiment.
Colleen's Kid Goku just sounds too much like her Luffy voice.

I honestly have to say I enjoyed Supreme Kai Pell of Universe 2 and Ea of Universe 3's Voice Actors, they did a Nice job and made them both fun and unique to show I felt their characters should sound like!

However, I was hoping the Dub would have changed things up abit for Pell of Universe 2, after knowing Now that Universe 2's source of their power is LOVE, NOT brute strength, that is more of Universe 10's thing.

So I was hoping they change Pell's dialogue to say Love instead.

Just sounds out of context with Universe 2's ideals that we got to know.

Kahseral is named "Casserale" and it rhymes with, Arale?

EDIT: Did anyone catch the VAs of all the newly introduced characters this episode?

Kahseral Dubbed Voice Actor Worked decent him, but he sounded ALLOT younger then I felt his voice would be. He sounds 30-40 years younger then his character seems IMO.

He sound with his Japanese Voice Actor and acted like the Old Man General/War Vet type of character both in how his character came across and his voice in Japanese.

Curious about this too

3's kai specifically sounded vaguely like Ayers but I cant imagine they're giving him more roles between Frieza and his health

This episode felt like a big showcase of voice actors for Funi.
BTW, is Dyspo's voiced by a black guy?

Yes, I just found the guy who voiced "Dispo" because he was the only name I could focus on while the credits rolled.

His name is "Christopher Dontrell Piper."

Ea is definitely not Ayres. He is voiced by someone named Alfie Coy. I remember seeing Meli Grant for Quitela. For some reason I didn't like Rumush's voice. Can't put my finger on why...

Wow, looks like Funi casted another movie star, as if James Marsters wasn't enough.

I mean, it gives them another gimmick besides power rangers. Everybody’s black...which is kind of hilarious.

Kind of a minor detail but I love that the guy the pride troopers were fighting had his lines written like a Power Rangers monster-of-the-week
