Sorry for the off-topic, but a note about Hacchan/Nº8:

Cell is a different case since he's more of a weird clone-orgy, so him having a soul and 16 not having it makes sense since he's actualy biological, what doesn't make sense is how Android 8, who's fully mechanical like 16, got resurrected during Boo saga. Only way to explain this is that Porunga is just that much more competent than Shen Long to the point he can rebuild robots just fine, but that's just headcanon lol.

If we focus only on the manga (leaving aside data that does not come from Toriyama), we see how it seems that Nº8 is an organic being. We see how he eats meat and drinks coffee. Why would a robot eat meat and drink coffee?





Clearly in the manga Toriyama treats him as an organic being, with needs similar to those of humans. In addition, he is full of scars on his body, which could make us think that his body is organic (even that it can be made up of parts of different people, like Frankenstein's monster, haha).

And yes, Android 17 says that the old models were human base, like them (androids 17 and 18).

Good points, but it's also worth pointing out that 8 is constantly called "mechanical", 8 even calls himself "android" (Keep in mind that 17 and 18 call themselves cyborgs), and part of the point of him being able to live in the village is that he's better than many "real" people, as the mayor says, and 17 is surprised to learn that 16 is fully mechanical and that Gero could make them from nothing, so how much he knew about previous models is questionable:

But yeah, I never noticed the scenes of him eating, that does make it more moot on whatever the hell he is, this page from the manga also doesn't specify whatever he is for some reason, just to make it even more moot:

IIRC, they call themselves "Jinzou Ningen"(lit. Artificial Human->Android), not "Kaizou Ningen"(Modified Human->Cyborg)

First one seems to be some sort of tutorial campaign for newbies that takes you through the Original Dragon Ball Era stories. I THINK it could be implying co-op?

I'm not entirely sure that Toriyama and the Dragon Room want to tell these stories in the main canon.
