Well, looks like Cristina Cavalinhos is the only member left of the original cast. Sad to see Loy go but not as much as I was for Feist and Spínola, Loy was very unpredictable in regards to Vegeta so this is not that bad, inconsistencies aside, at least it seems that he had a good send off. The question now is who will replace Loy? It will take a long time to know since new episodes will only start airing in July if Biggs airs Super without any breaks but it will still be nice to know. This probably means more actors for the dub so I'm hoping for one more man and a very needed woman.

No, every error was fixed in the movie even the Broly scream when transforming,which by the way was superb.

Já venho atrasado tendo em conta que o filme estreia daqui as 2 dias mas vim deixar a minha opinião na mesma.

Esta é, possivelmente, a melhor dobragem portuguesa que a franquia já viu desde começou cá a sua emissão, superando até mesmo a do filme "A Fusão" que também esteve nos cinemas.

Estou a falar em termos técnicos (lip sync, a mistura das vozes com o resto do som, os pequenos efeitos como ecos e assim nos momentos indicados), como a própria actuação dos actores e mesmo a naturalidade do guião.

Dou destaque às estrelas do filme (embora estejam todos de parabéns e é uma pena que os créditos da versão portuguesa estejam no ecrã durante tão pouco tempo), que para mim foram claro o Miguel Raposo, o João Loy, o Tomás Alves e o Romeu Vala.

O Miguel e o Tomás por serem os "novatos" e terem-se estreado em 2 dos papeis mais importantes tinham algo a provar. E fizeram um excelente trabalho.

O Miguel capturou a essência inocente do Son Goku na perfeição e embora se note que ainda está "preso" a tentar imitar o Henrique Feist (e nota-se na sua dicção nas frases mais calmas) dá um charme único ao personagem que a meu ver tem faltado na dobragem da série do Super.

O Tomás tinha um desafio, qualquer registo que ele fosse se inspirar para o Freeza, tanto o do Spinola como o Japonês são bastantes característicos e era muito fácil ter-se ficado pela imitação de qualquer um e ficar por aí. No entanto conseguiu ali uma mistura entre as 2 interpretações que encaixa muito bem no personagem. Manteve a voz aguda e acrescentou-lhe o requinte monarca do original, complementando a personalidade sádica.

O Romeu está de parabéns por uma simples razão, o Broli só soube gritar durante o filme e não houve nenhuma vez que deu a impressão de estar a dar "phone in". Em termos de voz também se acentua nesta nova versão do personagem mas o que vendeu foi mesmo a gritaria a torto e a direito.

Em relação ao João Loy, atrevo-me a dizer que esta foi a sua melhor performance como Vegeta nestes anos todos que o dobrou. Sinto que foi aqui que ele "percebeu" (falta-me uma palavra melhor) o personagem e como tal fez um trabalho espectacular. Ouviu-se O Vegeta, não alguém a fazer a voz dele.

Os outros claro que também estiveram muito bem como já referi, fiquei muito contente com as performances do Rei Vegeta e o Bardock (que não apanhei os nomes, infelizmente), bem como o Leemo e a Cheelai.

Em termos de guião, não tendo visto a versão original (ainda) pareceu-me muito natural e as pérolas que houveram (que foram poucas) não foram forçadas, houve uma em particular que pôs a sala toda aos risos e que elevou a cena em questão.

Só tenho umas coisas negativas a apontar, mas isto percebo que é algo que vai sempre permanecer numa dobragem portuguesa de Dragon Ball e que são mariquices minhas, e é o facto da nomenclatura continuar inconsistente tanto com a versão original, tanto como a dobragem das séries dos anos 90. Não há razão para se usar "Vegito" se depois usam "Gogeta" (visto que nenhum dos nomes que fazem a fusão têm "i") e o filme teria sido uma excelente oportunidade para deixarem coisas como "Golpe da Força Máxima" para trás e terem adaptado estes pequenos termos (que a fim ao cabo até fazem a diferença) com mais fidelidade. Mas mais uma vez, sei que maior parte do público alvo não se preocupa com isto e é algo que só irá fazer diferença aos mais puristas.

Não deixou de ser uma experiência inesquecível e recomendo mesmo a aqueles que ainda estão na duvida para verem a versão dobrada, dia 14 estou lá!

Nice review, I was actually going to make one tomorrow but you nailed most of the points.
I will try to rewatch the movie as soon as I can dubbed due to how good it was, I was going to watch it subbed next but this dub deserves it.

King Vegeta is Luis Lobão if I'm not mistaken and the same for Beerus I think, I kind of forgot Beerus' voice due to how used I am to Spinola's but I don't think it is Tomás.

Well, just I've seen the movie and I have to say WHAT A WONDERFUL DUB! People saying that this is the best portuguese dub Dragon Ball ever got are not overhyping this in any way, the casting is 99% perfect (although I don't hate Cavalinho's Gine it should've been Joana Castro doing Gine). I'm going to go through the characters that I feel are more important.

Goku: Goodbye Feist, you may have been good in the past but Miguel Raposo blows your entire Super performance away. What a great performance he gave especially in battle, he's so close to Nozawa sometimes it's actually uncanny, the screams of pain when Broly is beating Goku up are so close to the japanese screams and I love it SO MUCH! Best Goku casting we could ever got and I can't wait to see him on Super.

Freeza: Well this was so much better than Spínola's performance it's actually very surprising. Tomás Alves clearly took inspiration from Spínola's portrayal of the character but clearly made it his own thing. Unlike Spínola that went for a flamboyant Freeza, Alves clearly decided to stick closer the Nasao's portrayal focusing on the sadistic and evil side of the character and still staying flamboyant when he needs to be flamboyant. He can go to a high pitch voice but he also went to a lower pitch a lot of times unlike Spínola that decided to always stick with the high pitch.

Broly: Can't complain, perfect casting. Romeu is great as calm Broly and when he starts screaming he blows it out of the park. Not even close to Bin Shimada for obvious reasons (how can a 60 year old scream that much?) but Romeu clearly has some powerful screams up his sleave and it was a great performance overall. Top 3 dub Broly no doubt (the others are LatAm Broly and Brazilian Broly).

Vegeta: Why couldn't you be like this from the start Loy? Why couldn't you be this good everytime? Why did you make us suffer through all of that when we could've gotten this? Loy was great as Vegeta and his voice goes very well with Raposo's when Gogeta appears. A great last performance from a very polemic voice actor.

Beerus: The only new voice that I found worse than the first dub voice we got. Luís Lobão does a very good Beerus but Spínola's Beerus was just perfect in every way and it was impossible to be as good. A decent replacement but at the end of the day it's just a replacement.

Audio-In: Why couldn't you be like this from the start Audio-In? Why couldn't you be this good everytime? Why did you make us suffer through all of that when we could've gotten this? Finally they made a perfect job,perfect translation (dubbisms aside) and great directing. Let's hope they keep this up with the remaining Super episodes.

Special Mentions: Rui de Sá as Paragus (way better than Paulo Espírito Santo), Joana Castro as Cheelai (just perfect casting), Quimbé as Lemmo (a great performance overall) and obviously Cristina Cavalinhos as Bulma (the only remaining member of the 90s cast and the only one that was always 100% consistent).

Watched the movie today and I had the time of my life!!!
I already had watch a leak before, but as expected watching it at the theater is a total different experience.

Overall the dub was great!

I would rather to not have any jokes and keep the sub names, but seems like they still aren't ready for that, even though it was the perfect time to do it.

Miguel Raposo's Goku totally blew me away. His Goku feels so organic and faithful to the source. What an incredible start!
King Vegeta, Paragus, Vegeta and Broly stood out too, but Goku's was definitely my favourite.

Loy was full of energy but without an director, god knows what he would've said. It's a shame because once again he proved how great his Vegeta can be, when he wants.

With Spínola gone, Romeu is the new MVP.

New Beerus is nowhere close to Spínola's level and it's the only recast I'm not satisfied.
I didn't like Cristina's Gine either.

Props to Audio-In for the great job, regardless. If i criticize them when they fuck up, it's only fair to praise them when they do it right. And they really did it. I'm impressed!

I had decided to drop the anime but if they keep this level at least, I may reconsider it.
