New country from Europe was announced: Switzerland.
The movie has 106 confirmed countries so far.
It has surpassed even Toei's expectations (90+ countries).

Looks like it was confirmed for India for this month as well. It looks like it might just be released from the one theatre chain and on such a short notice I don't expect it to make multiple millions or anything like that but it is more money for it.
It released in France and Belgium today and Portugal tomorrow. Plus a lot of other smaller countries that I don't know if I'll ever hear anything from unless it comes to Box Office Mojo.

Another 2 countries were announced: Angola and Mozambique.
But most likely we won't know how the movie did there.
And with these 2 new countries, the movie will have at least 110 confirmed countries (considering that we are still waiting some more Nordic ones to be announced). So many countries and IMDb lists only 34.
As for France I found this:

The movie sold 150,348 tickets on its first day in France. Not sure what that would be in gross, unless someone from there knows the average ticket price but that's pretty good.
Edit: Well it's not the best way of doing it but I can see that Cold Pursuit sold 153,700 tickets over a weekend which amounted to $1.22 million. Alita sold 149,300 over a weekend which amounted to $1.24 million. So a ballpark of $1.2-1.3 million for Broly on opening day based on that.
If that 500,000 forecast were to hold and looking at how other movies performed...it'd be around $4 million. Glass sold 462,000 tickets on its opening weekend which amounted to $3.52 million. This could be a surprise market.

Funnily enough I found that same site yesterday except the forecast was 200,000 tickets sold. So it looks like after how well it's done on the first day, they've gone and more than doubled that initial forecast.TheRed259 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 3:27 am As for France I found this:

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
France, a surprise market? Hardly. Dragon Ball has been dormant because it's been on pay TV but dude lots of people in their 30's and 40's remember it fondly. Everyone watched it back in the day. Even grandmas knew what it was. And the manga has been going strong all the time.Bullza wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 5:47 pm https://mobile.twitter.com/boxofficeleb ... 9470381056

I do not understand why you're talking about surprise Bullza? Dragon ball is extremely popular in France.Real Goku wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 4:51 am Hello PFM18, i live in France and i can tell you than the problème is not the popularity of DB. Back in 80/90 the rating was between in 30 and 40% and today you still had this type of thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1Sde7ngCQc that show how much it's popular here .
The problème is différent it's never easy in France for some reason
I'm French and the price for a ticket is approximately 10€/11 Dollards.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
Well I say surprise because I was expecting within the same range of the other European markets so like $1-2 million. I didn't even expect it to do as well as in Italy because all three movies released there.
The other two movies didn't have a proper release in France so for this to come out and possibly do so much better is surprising to me. Again if that sites projection were to become reality that'd be about $4 million. Not far off from the UK, Spain and Germany grosses combined in just a week.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
I remember when DBZ movies 12-13 came out at the cinéma in France in the 90's, I read somewhere in a magazine that it sold nearly ONE MILLION tickets... Unfortunately I don't have that magazine anymore and can't provide proof, but it just shows how big Dragon Ball has been in France.Bullza wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 2:14 pm Well I say surprise because I was expecting within the same range of the other European markets so like $1-2 million. Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
Right so finally we have a proper bonafide update, not one that I've had to calculate myself. So according to this...
https://www.comscore.com/Insights/Rankings?country=US#1
Domestic - $28,222,277
International - $85,946,717
Worldwide - $114,168,994
The big disparity there is that Box Office Mojo has it at $30.71 million domestically instead, a whole $2.5 million more. Now I'm not 100% sure but it may be that Comscore stopped tracking it after 1/27 when Box Office Mojo had it at $28,222,458.
In which case the movie would really have a worldwide gross of $116.65 million.
I don't know the breakdowns for France, Portugal or Belgium yet except it was #2 for the weekend in France. I just know what it says there that it made $1.976 million this weekend. That's still an estimate so it'll probably change a little.
But yeah that's now the most accurate figure that we have.

It will probably make a good deal of money in China.
Has it already opened there?

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
In France the movie looks to have sold 347,000 tickets in 5 days. That's not the 500,000 that the site projected though it is more than the 200,000 that they originally projected.
Based on other movies that seems like it should be around $2.4-2.6 million. Though Comscore says $1.97 million for the weekend across 10 markets. That is just an estimate and who knows how they're breaking the days down. We'll know soon enough anyway.
In Portugal it made $83,000 and was #2. Haven't heard anything from Belgium.
The My Hero Academia movie opened in China just a few days ago and made $5.27 million though. So gives an idea what this could make.
That movie released in Japan last August so it took 7 and a half months before it finally released in China. So this could take a while to come out.

They haven't got around to updating it yet. When the movie was announced at making over ¥12 billion, so between $107-116 million, they just went with the high end.Fearless wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 4:13 am Wikipedia has it 116,000,000.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office Thread
Just wanted to correct something I said before. I said it had sold 347,000 tickets by Sunday when it was projected to have sold 500,000 according to that site.
However that 500,000 was meant to be as of today Tuesday, not Sunday. It's still been revised down to 410,000 now, but yeah it's not as far off as I'd initially made it sound.
http://www.cine-directors.net/boxoff.htm
As a comparison I see another movie which sold 407,000 tickets and made $3.2 million.

In France it was #2 and made $2.75 million in 5 days with 347,000 tickets sold. Apparently it sold 400,000 tickets after 7 days and now the forecast is that it will have sold 560,000 tickets after 14 days. That'd be about $4.4 million if it held true.
The Belgium grosses are listed...but Dragon Ball ain't there. It did come out in Belgium right?

From Box Office Mojo:
Portugal: $133,091 (as of March 24)
Vietnam: $16,864 (as of March 24)
The movie was released in Vietnam on March 22 so that's how much it made in 2 days.
