Use this program to download YouTube videos.

EDIT: Looks like they're still using that Yamcha Blue Brick green grading, ugh.
Use this free browser extension/add-on to download YouTube videos. Used it for years on Chrome and Firefox. Love it.

Can anyone with kai and dragon box confirms these shots?
Zooming is indeed comparable to and sometimes better than the Japanese Dragon Box, outside of episode 1 which definitely feels cramped (sorry for some of the screenshots being janky due to YouTube and what not. I need to go through some of the other shots in the blog post and compare them to the Dragon Box soon):

Looks pretty good to me now. The only thing left to confirm is what will they do with the tape marks. If I'm paying $350 they better be digitally repaired, not some frame replacement.

So what they need to do now is to fix the cropping in ep1, take away the stupid noise reduction and color correction, repair the tape marks, and we will have a reincarnated level set.

Unfortunately, this is FUNimation, so that's a tall order. We're going to have to make our voices loud and make them heard quickly.

I like JDownloader because it works on a LOT of sites, not just YouTube. It even allows you to download just the audio as an mp4 file, which can be great if that's all you want.

Remove the sharpening filter, and reduce the red, too.

These new images don't look that bad. They're not the level set quality we wanted but they're not total trash either, at least not to me.

there's another trailer?

Just give us the raw film as anyway i don't understand why they bothered cropping to 4/3 when screens are 16/9, just give us everything, we'll get less black bar and all the image.

i am impressed by those screens, so they have all 291 episodes raw films in HD look a like level sets but they dare and managed to destroy everything as much as now it look like an upscale...they should fire all their technical staffs

so your eyes are trash it looks like upscale, only colors can save a little as it's closer than dbox but why bothering with this release when upscaling dbox footage can give the same result or better?

Dunno. If I were to guess though, it's sheer time. Those were done a decade ago, and any number of things could have changed since then, including the programs and machines they use to remaster old footage, or the team working on the remaster itself. If both of those facets are true, it makes more sense to start over, especially considering how shallow the Levels were able to penetrate the show. They SHOULD be used as the go-to standard for this, though.
Three of the four editors who appeared in the Level Set Blu-ray featurette stopped working for FUNimation years ago.

Plus on top of that his grammar kind of sucks, yeah i'm not a mod and all but still even i can notice it.
DB collection related goals as of now:

1.) Find decent priced copy of Dragon Box Z Vol. 4 (Done)

2.) Collect rest of manga

3.) Get rest of Daizenshuu (2-7)

Nothing like insulting people to get them to agree with you. If this is what some of the comments Funimation have been getting look like then it's no wonder they don't pay any attention to what we want.

It's not actually helpful, I think. Rather, it's enlightening to the situation and explaining.

What'd be helpful would be to have them do proper remastering, or release untouched video.

Wouldn't an untouched release be in SD quality ? As far as I know even the dragon boxes were cleaned up to a degree so even Japan never got an untouched release apart from what originally aired during the 80s and 90s.

I think it is about time we take it into our own hands and do a De-Remastered release. Anybody interested? I have broadcast audio and video for comparison and usage.

The way the Star Wars fandom De-Specialised the original trilogy has always impressed me.

How would you do that?? Throw grain back on it like it's an Orange Brick trailer?
