Both the right and left act like this. They may say different things on camera but when they don't get their way they act exactly the same.

Left: Women have a right to their own bodies.

Right: No they don't.

Left: People of color, whether black, Hispanic, or Middle Eastern, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

Right: No they don't.

Left: Freedom of religion means all religions get equal treatment.

Right: No it doesn't.

Just so we’re clear Zero, I generally believe in the gist of what you’re saying here but..

Right: No they don't.
At the risk of sounding like a centrist the whole abortion debate is somewhat more complex than either side wants to pretend that it is.

Also even Trump and Tomi Lahren aka Racist Barbie ,who throws a fit at the dumbest crap especially in regards to people of color, spoke out about how restrictive and damaging Alabama’s new abortion laws are.

Left: People of color, whether black, Hispanic, or Middle Eastern, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

Right: No they don't.
Also a tad oversimplification. I think you’re conflating the alt right with your run of the mill right winger.

Not only has it come to light that the man who harassed Jamie Marchi publicly shared his intentions on Twitter, but in a delicious twist of irony, it happened on his birthday. (The relevant tweet confirming that isn't in Skye's thread, but I've seen it shared on Twitter. Dig around at your own discretion.)

Regardless of the evidence provided, Blackface Lawyer chalks up both that and the Rial incident as a conspiracy. (Which says all you need to know about anyone who still screeches "bUt WhErE's ThE eViDeNcE???

Okay, I have very little sympathy for the right, I think they're usually wrong about shit and are FAR behind in terms of how they treat others, but the alt-right is not the entire right-wing. Right-wing is your dad, Alt-Right are actual honest-to-god fascists hoping for the death and/or removal of anyone who's not like them from the US, and making no claims about believing otherwise.

Attacking VA’s at their panels, demanding something you’ll never get is utterly low and pathetic.

The left are just as extreme on political issues just as much as the right is. The correct answer is usually found in the middle, a place where both parties refuse to look at. Acting like one party is always right while the other is always wrong is the exact problem both face and the reaosn nothing gets resolved, your reply being an example of this.

Unless your dad is full-on bigoted it's more likely that he's in favor of left policies but the GOP are great at campaigning and the Dems are paid to lose.

Nothing gets resolved because of money in politics. The fuckle chucks in Washington DC are completely out of the mainstream, sucking the dicks of the wealthy and military industrial complex while our kids don't have clean water, cannot eat and go sick and die from a lack of health care. Look at the polls and movements being made: the American populace are fiercely left-wing, even if they don't understand that the policies they want are left-wing. The Democrats and Republicans are bought-and-paid-for corporatists, zealots and otherwise cunts. You have maybe 1% of politicians in the US willing to un-apologetically fight for things like a living wage, free college, free health insurance, childcare and fucking feeding kids at school.

Yeah, we lefties are pretty fuckin' extreme. I take the wholly extreme position of not wanting 32,000-45,000 people dying per year because they put off going to the hospital because they cannot afford it. We pay twice per person than the rest of the modern world, the same modern world that has free health insurance.

Apologizing for wanting left-wing policies enacted is horribly fucking stupid.

I'm not going to turn this into a political debate. Please, Google the term "hyperbole," because my post was a pretty clear cut case of it.

Democratic Socialism is patch-work at best and while I definitely argue that it's what the United States needs to move toward we also need to wholly invest in an even better system. Democratic Socialism is merely a less-cruel Capitalism and as we learned from the Reagan Revolution of 1980 it's actually quite possible for our welfare system to be stigmatized and dismantled. The second we get our first half-way progressive PotUS since Kennedy/Johnson is the second we regain real ground for good. Reagan would've never succeeded in pulling the Overton Window to the right if the internet and New Media had existed in the 1980s.
