I expect someone to find the date on a random happy meal box. I remember there was no build up for the original super, the announcement just came out of nowhere on a random press release.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Jump Fiesta: check
March-April: check
Goku Day: check
recently in June: unofficial with movie, no anime: check
License expo: check
SDCC with DB Tour: To be announce if GOING to be announce.

Pretty sure SDCC is last one we can get.

There all your history.

I just realized. Them announcing something like a new movie or a series in the west before Japan seems weird and slightly unrealistic. There might have been two instances of this happening with games but there were always leaks beforehand.

So when is this SDCC?
Midway of July, like 17th or 18th?

I like the manga, too. I think the show will continue: it just seems smart to keep the momentum generated by the Broly movie going. The "when" remains the big question, however...

Wasn't the expo supposed to be coming around this time? Is it not here yet or was Toei's twitter just hyping up Bandai's new game?

And this takes place in LA or Vegas right? Why announce a movie in the west?

The licensing event already ended last week, as far as an announcement at SDCC , that seems unlikely, i could see a trailer being dropped therelike they did for DBS Broly but not an announcement for movie/anime

Probably nothing, I think the fandom misinterpreted that tweet.

Zero context, zero setup. Its in NO way meant to be seen as a "beginning point" for ANYTHING other than the next story arc. It flows precisely and fluidly from where things left off in the aftermath of the 23rd Budokai and mostly hits the ground running from there without really stopping to look back. You're plopping someone into the middle of a book starting at chapter 195 out of 519 for absolutely no good goddamn reason, with very minimal opportunity to look back at much needed context and character/story growth.

But this is like the 5th time this has happened and they still haven't addressed it. Do they get something out of the false hype or is it just funny?

I imagine the intern running that account likes to fuck with all the people who spam every single tweet of his/hers with "bring back super" , "announce 2per"

I'm pretty sure the next big event is Comic Con in July (18th to 21st). If nothing gets announced then, I think it's unlikely we'll see seeing a new anime or movie in 2019. Kitaro has been confirmed for another year and I don't think there's been any announcement about it changing timeslots so I'm assuming it's keeping the same one until 2020. A movie seems more likely since the only official source about any new content has been that recent interview with the Shuiesha director.

What about Anime Expo (or something like that)? It´s supposed to happen in July, beginnings of it, any chance for something dragon ball-related to be announced there?

I think comic con will have a panel for DB's 3th anniversary so that could be a place to announce it. It also takes place in July.

Why would a Japanese company announce a Japanese product outside their main market that is Japan. Makes no sense.
