He doesn't get much time in the Super manga, but in the anime I always figured him to be the normal one of the family that realizes that all of his relatives are insane.

The thing to remember with GT Goten is that, while they basically made it his entire character trait, it wasn't made up for GT specifically. Goten at the end of the manga and the DBZ anime was also going on about having to miss a date due to training with Goku. Toei took that moment and made it his whole MO instead of making it just a part of his character, but the idea itself does still come from Toriyama originally.

I was just about to come in here and say that GT Goten is best Goten, but I guess I don't need to because we're already having a discussion about him.

it depends how you see it ... I like it more goten gt because it is more original and he stop being a copy of kid goku however it is easy to realize that this version of goten is very limited ... because only one aspect of his personality in his side human but nothing of him as a warrior ... in the epilogue only that aspect of him is mentioned but it should be only a part and not all that is the character.

GT Goten is the only version of this character that had ANY relevance in series as a character on his own and only series where he isn't kid Goku's clone.

GT Goten is the only version of this character that had ANY relevance in series as a character on his own and only series where he isn't kid Goku's clone.

Goten looked like Goku but their personalities were distinct. Goku was driven to be a great martial artist. It's what he lived for. Goten did it because he was good at it and it was fun, but he never struck me as motivated to be the best.

So yeah, he was more of a horny teenage boy that just really wanted a gf.

Goten was never a Kid Goku clone? Goku as a kid was vulgar, unrefined, and a bumpkin. Goten in Z was kind of just a run of the mill “kid”

It probably is my favorite arc of the Z portion. And probably my third favorite overall behind 23 Budokai and Piccolo Daimao.
