They're going to milk this for all its worth, aren't they ?
If it gets a standard release after this hopefully it replaces the 16:9 Blu-rays and that's kind of a good thing!
This release: 4:3 DNR'd to hell
Next release 16:9 with grain

I suppose the faneditors could splice those together to give us a 4:3 release with the middle 75% of the show looking good.

I'll probably be picking up the season 2 set. I own a couple of the DBoxes up to the cell saga, and I have the newer blu-ray sets that cover the Buu saga.

Unfortunately, I never could get my hands on Season 2 DBOX so I'll use this new season 2 boxset to bridge the gap.

They should re-DNR this fake grain, release that, then add another layer of fake grain for the following release!

If they did a proper remaster and then cropped it I might invest in a hydrogen bomb.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

You made it look even more contrasty

This is how I watch the 30A with adjustments on my media player just to make it look more like what they showed in those “raw” screenshots:

I like the crop and with this kind of settings it's became "watchable" turning off the brain about how it should have look if done properly

I dont dislike any of these. The raw, the 30th, and the color corrections all look great!

Not sure if it was already shown but just discovered there were additional screenshots on the Madman listing showing what the outer packaging is like. So at least it's looking like a nice sturdy package for everything:

I'm not too shocked, I was expecting the packaging to be basically the same as the US version

The box is smaller than expected, but that's a plus in my book.

The statue's in the box with Goku on it.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Okay wow that's a lot smaller than I thought it'd be!
