Episode #0484! Mike and Julian discuss the history of the "Hera Clan" in the Dragon Ball franchise, dating back to what seems to be their first named appearance in 1993's "Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden 2" for the Super Famicom. Where has this name popped up, where has it NOT popped up, and why might this be?! Stay tuned for a variety of language-related listener questions to round out the episode!

Gotta say, I miss listening to these! They make car rides so much easier!
The Hera clan is one of those weird bits of info that is obscure but when it gets dug up 25 years later is just so quaint and exciting to learn about.

I'm surprised Julian didn't go with "Kanzen...soba?" during the intro.

In general, when it comes to all these various releases with largely interchangable names (surely the soushuuhen are more "kanzen" than the kanzenban) it's probably best for everyone to just use their actual names so everyone's on the same level. People know what the daizenshuu are, they know what the kanzenban are, and for the most part they don't really care what those words MEAN. Having multiple terms for the same releases thrown around just makes people confused about what's what. Especially if they want to buy the things and need to know which term they need to use to find that specific release for sale.

To Mike and Julian's question as to whether Sirius Lee was actually used in any dub/localization, it wasn't. There were simply some fans back then (such as myself) discussing the possibility that they could use something like that to get the pun across in English.
